I have tickets to go see Saturday Night Live on March 4th, and I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone to see it. They say to arrive by 10:15, but I was wondering how early people start getting there. I know that some people get there wicked early for this kind of thing and I’m wondering just how early I should plan on arriving.

We also have tickets to see Regis and Kelly on March 6th.

I went twice, many years ago, and actually saw the dress rehersal and not the actual show. I sat on the floor once and in the balcony the other time. There is so much going on that it doesn't really matter where you sit.

If you have a ticket, you should have a seat. I would arrive around 10:00.

RadioFanatic, I sent an e-mail to NBC in August, and heard in December that I got tickets for March. I've been trying to get them for several years. They only request ticket requests during the month of August, and they draw names from all those who send in e-mail requests.

Sounds like fun. And wear something lime green so that I can spot you on TV.

thanks for the info - I'll have to keep it in mind for this august. I can't wait to read the trip report!

We were only in New York for a very limited time in December of 2001, but we were able to go on the NBC tour that goes into the Saturday night live set.
The tour guide said that most of the audience is given tickets--family members or friends of people "in the business". The rest is done by the lottery system that TLinden16 talked about. Lorne Michaels once said (partly joking and partly serious) that "It is almost easier to become a member of the cast than it is to get tickets to the show!"

So congrats on your tickets. Sounds like you are really lucky! Enjoy! :yay: :cool1:

They also say that the best place to see it is from your house on your TV. They say you can't actually see a lot of the filming while they are doing it. But I still think it's going to be fun to be there :)

I went back in 1980. It was alot of fun. Enjoy it!
