We were just at Disney a few weeks ago and it was DD25 and DSIL27's first time eating at Ohana, they fell in love with it even tried to get ADRs again but nothing was available. Next month is DD25's birthday and they are going to upgrade their FL 4 day pass to Seasonal Passes, as a birthday gift I am going to keep the grandkids (DGS3 and DGD7 months) for the weekend. I wanted to make them Ohana ADRs but all that was available was 9:40pm. Since its only them, eating that late is not a problem but I don't want them to be rushed. Anyone ever experience eating this late? I will keep trying to get them an earlier ADR. Thanks

I don't blame them for falling in love with Ohana! We have eaten there early and late, with and without ADRs - they will almost definitely feel less rushed with a later ADR, since the servers will not be pressed to think about how many tables they can serve before closing. When ADRs are unavailable at Ohana, we often go 30 minutes early before it opens, and we will generally wait ~45 minutes-1 hour for a table. But we have definitely felt rushed while eating at that earlier time. With a later ADR, the restaurant will operate/serve until they are completely finished. I've never heard of them running out of food towards the end, but maybe other DISers have some input on that issue.

I went to Ohana back in August for a 9:30 ressie. It was my first time at Ohana and I LOVED it. My friends and I are 25 and we didn't have a prob at all with the late reservation. Actually it was awesome because Wishes was at 10 that night and we were close enough to the window to see it.

Service-wise, did I feel rushed? Well, no. BUT, we did not have an outstanding waitress. She seemed to forget about us a lot. So it was kind of the opposite of rushed. We were waiting around for seconds a lot. But, with all of that said, it was still a really ood experience, even as late as it was :thumbsup2

We have gone 4-5 times. From 5 pm til 9:10.
Always been good. Never rushed.
Last week it was the 9:10 pm times (free dining  ). We had a great time and took our time. They were still seating a few tables when we left.

We usually eat around 9:30 at Ohanas and haven't ever felt rushed. Once we were seated right in front of the window to watch Wishes which was just awesome. :lovestruc

Thanks for the responses, Wishes is at 9:00pm that night strange since they are open until 11pm but they can either view it from MK or from Poly's beach. I'm glad they won't feel like they are being rushed out the door.

the later you go the worse the service, delayed meats and dirty restaurant from our experiences with late ressies...

We always pick 8:30pm or later reservations for 'Ohana's. We love the quieter, calmer atmosphere and the service is much, much better because your server has fewer people to contend with and we really enjoy watching Wishes from our table. Plus we are from the West coast so a 9:00pm ressie is like eating at 6:00 pm on our body clocks.

We'll be eating there after 9:00pm 3 times this trip...only 5 more days...YUM!

My experience is with the late reservations its a little calmer and a few less kids than say at 7 PM dinner time

We ALWAYS book our Ohana dinners closest to when Wishes begins at MK so we can watch from our table:thumbsup2 One of our favortie things to do in all of WDW, as a matter of fact. We are doing it 2 times on our upcoming trip too;)

Yes, and in my experience they will not rush you.

The advantage in my opinion is: No screechingly loud maraca parades, limbo contests or coconut races. Those are all over by then. I won't be going any earlier than 9 again if I can help it.

We had a res for 8:50 that I tried to
change for about 75 days. My DGD
is 4 yrs and this time was really too
late. We decided to try to get in
earlier, so we went at 7:50. The
nice lady at the podium gave us a
beeper and said we should go on
the beach and watch the fireworks
until beeped. Wow, we didn't even
get down the steps and it beeped.
We were quickly seated at the
window and had a wonderful time
watching the fireworks. We still have
4 more days of our trip and this has
been our most magical exp so far.

Me and my boyfriend had a 9:10 reservation in May. We originally had 9:40, but managed to get it a bit earlier about a week before we left.

Pros: The restaurant is less crowded and, if Wishes is at 10:00 that night, they dim the lights and pipe in the music. You can see the fireworks outside the window!

Cons: I don't like eating so late.

But if 9:40 is the only time you can get a reservation, I would take it!

I agree with most people. I think it is just the same as eating at any other time in terms of the service, but the atmosphere is a little less crazy. The latest I've eaten there was 9:15PM, but I also had a 9:30PM reservation and was able to get in at 7:30PM when I stopped by the podium to check for cancellations.

'Ohana is one of the places where I like to have later ADRs! I definitely think it's less rushed and if your timing is right, you can watch Wishes. They play the music over the speakers at the restaurant, which is really cool.

I've never felt rushed here. By the way, I am a huge Ohana fan. I just love it.

I will say that this is a fast paced restaurant, everyone is moving fast and food is coming from all directions. Some people may feel rushed because of that, just try not to since it is just the nature of the place.

We always go late so we can watch Wishes.

I had a 9:55 pm reservation and they close at 10. There were a lot of people in the restaraunt. I never had exceptional service whenever I have gone there but I was not rushed and they were putting fresh meet on the grill.

We eat there Sept 22 at 8:40. We didn't have to wait long. What food we did get was good. Our server was slow. You know how you suck down your first drink, well it took our server 30 mins to come back to refill our glasses. The server that helps her with the side dishes took forever. They only came around with the meats 4 times, even after asking for more still took them along time to come back and there was not alot of people there. We got refills on our drinks twice after being there for over an hour. I was happy that we would be able to see the fireworks, well lets just say I heard them. We were close to the window. Once the fireworks, a group of adults ran to the window and blocked my view. I was not a happy camper. This will not keep me from returning though. My family loves Ohanas, I just hope to get an earlier ressies, I wouldn't mind them rushing. Just because they rush doesn't mean you have to eat fast and leave.

We had a 9:45 reservation-- and it was terrible. We saw our waitress once, and the food server was terrible. We got all of our food quickly, but when the meats came, there were only one piece of steak for each of us. Thus, when he came by with the shrimp and asked if we wanted anything else, we requested more steak. We waited literally 17 minutes (I timed it) and he returned with... more shrimp! When we declined, he huffed away before we could ask him for the steak that we actually wanted!! It was terrible...of course, I don't know if that's because we were the victims of terrible service or if it had something to do with the time... I'm guessing it's a combo of both. Our server was lazy and uncompetant at the end of the night.
