We will be at "The World" from 12/11 to 12/18. I have no desire to eat at The Brown Derby in HS, but would really like to try the Grapefruit Cake. Does anyone know if I could walk up and order a piece of that cake "to go" without actually having to eat there?

I can't see why not, but you can always give them a call 407-WDW-DINE. Good luck!

The restaurants at WDW are not set up for take-out. However, you can make an ADR and just have dessert.

"You can get the cake at Starring Rolls, the bakery attached to the Brown Derby. "

Well, I guess that solves that problem!

Thank you for the heads up!:cool1:

It is not likely that 407 WDW-DINE will be able to tell you, or at least not with any accuracy, what the individual policies of the Brown Derby restaurant are. They're really consistantly useful only for making reservations or checking for reservation availability.

The general rule that is usually reported is that WDW TS restaurants do not accept carryout orders. There are here and there reports from someone who did manage to get a carryout item from a TS restaurant, so all you can really do is ask when you arrive and hope you get someone at the podium who is willing or able to accommodate your request.

I agree getting a piece to go isn't gonna happen. But making a ressie and just having dessert is fine.

I did this for my bday and it was great. The server was awesome, the cake good and I even got another dessert free because it was my bday. LOL

Nothing like just cake for lunch on your bday!!

Starring Rolls has it, but not on display, you tell the clerk you want a piece, and they go next door to the BD to get it for you......Phenomenal!
