I will be staying with my wife, daughter and the inlaws in a 2 bedroom villa at OKW from Saturday, Feb. 17-Friday, Feb. 23. I have a chance to get a Friday night flight instead of Saturday morning.(no inlaws...they will be meeting us on Friday)

I was thinking of paying cash for a 1 bedroom on Friday night and request a lock off two bedroom for the next six nights. I was hoping they would not make me move, but rather open of the attached studio the next day.

Has anyone ever done this?

We have done it in the past. It is an easier maneuver if you have the 2BR to begin with and then have a 1BR for the last part of the stay, but it can be done as you describe too. However, it will depend entirely on the availabilty when you arrive and will not be guaranteed ahead of time. If the studio next to your 1BR is not going to be vacated the next day you will be out of luck. I think you'll have better luck arriving on a Friday since weekends will generally have more availability. Just be prepared for a possible move ... and that you may be "homeless" from 11am until 4pm.

I'd ask MS to note your request on your reservation and confirm the request at check-in (and possibly even go back to the desk early on Sat to let them know how much you'd appreciate some consideration meeting that request).
