Has anyone ever divorced over American Idol? lol

DH wants Kat to win, I want Taylor. Last night we were WRESTLING for the phone... ...we each got in one vote.

Anyone else have an SO who wants one Idol while you want the other to win?

Not DH, but I did have a HUGE fight with my father.

I love Taylor. I think singers like Kat are a dime a dozen. Just my opinion - you can turn on the radio to any station, listen for 5 minutes and hear 10 singers that are exactly the same.

Anyway, I casually mention in front of my father that I stayed up late one night voting for Taylor and he freaked out on me. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about and I had lousy taste in music - he picked on the music on my iPod. Sheesh! Calm down, dad. He only likes Kat because her father is Tiny Tears like my father. He feels validated in some way. My dad looks like Hulk Hogan (he's been stopped dozens of times for autographs ever since I was little), but he just falls apart in a shower of tears when it comes to me. Kat's dad makes him feel better about that.

....only in the sense that I watch it and DH doesn't. However, he did get a glimpse of Kat and thought she was hot. I suspect that if he had to vote, it would be for Kat.....strictly for her looks.

Same here. I have watched AI a couple of times. I actually voted once. I texted instead of called. It was much easier, since I didn't have to deal with a busy signal. You might want to try that.

My friend said you can start voting at 8:55. That's when DH got his call in for Kat and then the fight ensued...lol.
We have kids with FUR only, but I'll fight him for custody!

I've said it before - every time Kat sings I think "oh that's nice" and that's it. Taylor - he's got me falling all over myself.

My DH is also liking Kat. Now what's funny is that he's a total blues & soul fan. If you've ever heard Taylor's live sets - that's exactly what DH is into.

So last night I'm so annoyed (because I know for certain why he likes Kat) that I've vowed to buy him Kat's CD as soon as it comes out. To really peeve him off, I'll even pre-order and gift wrap it from Amazon. What's funny about that is that I'm positive that he will not actually like the music.

Luckily we both like Taylor. Neither of us can stand the "long haired girl"...lol....

Last night she just sounded awful to me, but I've also thought she was awful from the beginning. Her mother being a music coach, teacher or whatever, her mother cant possibly think that sounded good, its just not humanly possible to think that was a good performance. That one song she sang when she was squeezed into that dress was just sung in a key that was too low for her and all Randy said was the song was bad but the singer was good. I was amazed! Then he ripped Taylor a new one for his Elton John song. It certainly seemed to me that Randy was playing faves, but what do I know.

I managed to get thru 3 times to vote but then later on about 1215 am or so with 45 minutes left to vote I started voting again and I got thru several times in a row, probably a total of 3 dozen times or so. Then it started to get busy again and I figured all the people in Hawaii were now voting too..

My DH doesn't watch AI regularly but when its on and he's around, he usually takes time to drool over Katherine.

Doesn't matter to me because that leaves me available to openly drool over Taylor.
