We are planning to be in Orlando the week of Dec 9th-15th.

I know my son (14 at the time of the trip) would love DC. However, I'm worried that it may be too cold to really enjoy it.

As this would likely be a "once in a lifetime" day I want to make sure we get to do everything.

Would we be better off waiting until next summer? We just got back from WDW a couple weeks ago and found out about DC to late :sad2:

Thanks!

You'll just have to keep an eye on the weather forecast. I've been there in January with beautiful weather!

We just went in JUNE and it got cloudy/overcast around 3pm and we were soooo cold:) DH and I have been here in FL for 3 years so we do not like the cold but our friends live in NJ and they were turning blue-haha. The water is 72 or so in a lot of the areas so cooler than beach water here.

Yes we did discovery cove in december in 2005 and it was colder then than other years at that time......There really wasnt a problem with it being too cold at all.....we both had the wet suits on and only got the knee legnth one's and we were fine.....they said see how you get on with the knee legth and if your feeling the cold come back. Needless to say we didnt go back it was fine!

It turned out to be a really nice day until about 3pm then it rained for a short while it really didnt bother us your in the water anyway......we went to eat (which I may add the food was amazing!) and then got dressed and went over to sea world. If your fortunate enough to have an early dolphin swim you can fit the rest of you day around it staying as long as you want.

we were there on boxing day (dec 27th 06). The weather was'nt great and my son did find the salt water pools cold. He enjoyed the tropical river as that was lovely and warm. All the lifegaurds were wearing hats and scarfs but we were determined to make the most off it and stayed from early morning to closing time, once the sun had gone down the temp really dropped and the wind got up a little, but even then i kept thinking of the experience of being there for christmas, which really was fantastic. i would defo do it again regadless of the temp. When you hoilday in North Wales (UK) and swim in the Irish sea you can face anything. Even in July and August the temp of the sea is freezing...
