Has anyone else noticed this?

When posting a certain topic.... ads seem to appear at the top and bottom of the thread related to the topic?

For example... someone posted about using "quotations" and there are links to puncuation sites.

A thread for the words to the song "Bye, Bye, Ms. American Pie" has links for Chevy!

I posted about the Toyota Highlander vs. the Saturn Vue and Toyota links were made available... How does the board do this? How, after over a thousand posts did I just now notice it... is it new?

I think its new. I just noticed it a few days ago, and I can't believe if its been here the whole time I wouldn't have noticed it before.

Anything that helps pay for the boards - GREAT!! It just kills me how smart it is behind the scenes to hone in on a product, per se.... or do the Moderators generate the ads based on the posts? I can't imagine they would have time....

It's automatic- that's the way Google Adsense works (I'm pretty sure that's what they are.) Ads are generated based on words that appear on the page. Pretty cool but sometimes you get funny results.

well, after i read your post i went back to see what ads were on it, for me i saw ads for universal studios vacations. but then i closed and re-opened it and saw toyota ads. very cool stuff, huh? technology is amazing to me!

I don't EVEN want to think about what is in a thread that would prompt those sites!

This post has been driving me crazy. I keep trying to find the ads. I don't get any ads. I have my screen set to Serenity Green. I had to change it to the default to see the ads. Thanks goodness I'm not going crazy.

Thank you!!! It was driving me batty!! I kept clicking on different threads trying to see these ads. Nothing. I'm on the Swan/Dolphin setting. Okay so now my question is, why when I set it to default did it not stay on default? As soon as I clicked away from the first page, it went back to Swan/Dolphin.

Okay so now my question is, why when I set it to default did it not stay on default? As soon as I clicked away from the first page, it went back to Swan/Dolphin.

Go to your users cp and click on edit options. Scroll down and change the forum skin to the one you want and click save. That should set it as your default.

Well, I tried that. It didn't work. I set it to default, but the minute I click away from that page it bounces right back to Swan/Dolphin. Not that it really matters that much but it's just strange. Seems it should stay once I set it within options. I tend to obsess about the dumbest things.
