Has anyone else heard this rumor re: refrigerators?

I have also been meaning to call and add a fridge to our ressie---but since were paid off, I thought I'd just request one at checkin.

It would be AWESOME to not have to pay the extra 60 bucks for our 6 night stay!!
I sure hope they get WL equipped with them by the end of Sept.

you know - in the long run - this just saves Disney time. They don't have to have a CM running fridges around to various rooms when people request them. I think this is FANTASTIC on their behalf - it's a win-win situation!

Wouldn't that be a nice kick in the head? I tend to keep a supply soft drinks at room temperature because I can pour it over ice when I want one in the room, thus saving space in those tiny fridges.

To say nothing about homemade rocks margaritas...

Let's hope the ice machines stay!

Just a note..... over on the DVC board there are those of us who think some posters have a "finacial" motive for posting about how great DVC is. They seem to run a business renting thier points. Just food for thought.

I think this is great news. I rarely stay deluxe anymore since it costs more than I want to spend, but I do splurge every now and then on the AKL!

I have a reservation for October at CSR. I recently called and requested that I have a refrigerator in my room since my DH has medication that has to be refrigerated at all times. They said that they would note it on my reservation that I needed a fridge. They never came out and said that there would automatically be one in the room anyway so requesting one wouldn't be necessary. Personally, I think all hotels everywhere should have a fridge. When you're out all day, it's nice to come back to your room and have a cool drink waiting for you!

I asked my DU TA about this yesterday in hopes she might have more details on a schedule. She said she'd talked to a CM (don't know at what level) and was told this would happen over a few months and no timeline for specific resorts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that AKL and WL are done my mid-September...

Will the refrigerators be full????

Usually when there is a refrigerator in the room at a hotel where I have stayed, it is full of over-priced drinks. Than, I have to empty it and put the items someplace for safekeeping. And, put them back in before I leave.

What happens if they raise the rate $10.00 a day for staying at the mods and Deluxe to cover the price of the refrigerators that they are adding. Very rarely does Disney do anything just to be nice..

oooooooo. that would be so cool if it's true..even cooler if we have one in our room at CR when we check in 24 days from now!!! i should just call and request one, but i too hate to spend extra on it and usually just end up taking my meds at night with something we grab at the snack bar. could be convenient though!!! and better than warm bottled water for sure LOL

can't wait to hear reports as people start finding these in their rooms!

As a DVC member who has never rented points, I will always post how great DVC is when the topic arises. I have no financial motive and will tell you as a WDW lover and repeat guest that the best thing we ever did was buy into DVC.

As to the topic - this is great news and something long overdue.

This is great news! We like to extend some of our DVC stays in Disney's regular hotel rooms so this is terrific news.

It will be really nice for people that need to store medication and/or baby bottles, etc.

Nice touch but we have never needed it we always bring our electric coolers with us foir these types os situations. We are DVC members and use the weekends to try out the other resorts on property. We have never needed one so now we are going to essentially have 3 of them in the room.
