Hello, I was just thinking, and decided this was the best place to ask this. We have been to Disney every year for 6 years now, some years 3 or 4 times, and well since last feb. to this feb. we have been 4 times. A week last Feb. starting up our season passes again, 2 weeks in Oct. right after Hurricane Ivan, 5 days in Dec. and a week Jan 28-Feb 5th just recently. Now that you know my background, Here is the kicker question,, Do you ever say, ok after this time we are gonna stay away for a year or two, do something different, and your so excited to get there, but once your there, its like ok, seen this done that, numerous times, and still tell yourself, this will be it for awhile, while we love love disney, me-29, hubby-36, DD-13, DD10, DS-6, We would like to do different things, but something always pulls us back, I start to get said after I realize and I also keep up with it, that we only have a day left or even two, and when we get home, oh my goodness, I am so depressed, Once I get my hubby to agree to another trip and when, I start saying ok so good, we are going back.. and start to plan, and lately, its like I cant stand to go more than a few months.. I need help. I know.. but I also get there and say ok, this is it, we are gonna take time off and do something different.. Well so my season passes run out on Feb. 20th, so if I am gonna renew I have to do it soon, to save that little bit of money, or I can tell myself which I am trying so hard to do, lets wait a year, then get them again. My son-6, really wants and has wanted to do new york, yes, I know, strange for a 6 year old, but he has asks do go there for awhile now, so we thought maybe we could do a road trip, taking time to get there, and stop and see and do things along the way. Spend a couple days there, then head back. Do I start the planning and saving for that,, and try to do it over the summer.. But wait, then I start getting sad, NO DISNEY,, even though we dont go over the summer, I thought about maybe end of march, first week of april, but what about the new york trip,, Can you see my problems. Ha. thanks for listening. :cool1:

think of it this way, your kids will only be young once & isn't the look on their faces priceless  ::MickeyMo Just justify it to yourself that way :rolleyes1 I just got back 2 days ago me, DH, DD 5 1/2 & DS 2, & I'm depressed & need another ::MickeyMo fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether or not you renew your Disney passes, go to New York! We took our girls there last spring break and they absolutely loved it - the shows, the museums, American Girl Place (well, you'll probably skip that one), the sights, and Central Park - they loved it all. We go to Disney once every couple of years, and enjoy going somewhere else in between. Since you are in Florida, I can see why you go more often. Good Luck!

We did the "Every Year" thing when our son was young, and I'm not sorry. He loved Disney World, but when he hit high school, it wasn't quite as cool, so we backed off for a few years. We visited a lot of other places and I'm SO glad we did! There's a big world out there.

Then in college, out of the blue, our son joined the WDW college program! He spent a semester at WDW, met his future wife, and they both plan on careers at Disney. We were there last April, and we're pretty sure we'll be visiting a lot in the future - with our "Disney" grandchildren, we hope. :flower:

Instead of every year, you might make it every other year. Visit other places in your off year. This last October we went to New Orleans with our son and daughter-in-law. We had a great time! We'll be going back to WDW this October with them, and we'll have another great trip.

Bellefan66-<grin> Yup, how can one lady get so lucky? Who better to go to Disney World with than TWO kids who were in the College Program? :earsboy: :earsgirl:

And I have the world's BEST daughter-in-law. You'll see her here every so often as PrincessTommi.

You ARE lucky. We are going to have an engaged son,as of March,so we have to "school" her REAL quick. She know's we're Disney fantatic, but we gotta bring her up to our level of Dismania!!!

Bellefan66- Thank heavens, we didn't have the problem of "schooling" our DIL. They're BOTH Disney nuts, dyed-in-the-wool, can't wait to get back there. All we have to say is "let's go!" and they have their Ears on.

Good luck!

And I, very obviously, won the MIL lottery.

To the OP-
I totally understand the sadness of not planning to go *soon*. It's especially difficult sometimes because that kind of feels like *home* since I lived there and found the rest of my life down there!

Since finishing the College Program, DH and I have been back around every 18 months. While, I wouldn't mind going more (of course), this has been a very nice schedule! And we've been very very fortunate to have other vacations in between as well. I enjoy going other places (New Orleans was AMAZING), but still planning on going to Disney regularly. It's a nice balance for us. We're lucky kids.

I don't think it would hurt anything to take some time and visit other places. A New York vacation sounds like it would be great. You will see cool things, it will make you appreciate Disney maybe a little more, and there will be *new* stuff to see when you get back there. The anticipation for the new stuff is v. cool. This last trip in March, Mickey's Philharmagic was new to us, and we are very much looking forward to Soarin' on our next trip.
