Julia sobbed that she was not tall enough for ToT this year - she is a little daredevil!!

when we went to the Boardwalk slide she really wanted to go down it - but she wanted to go with me they wouldn' let us- then she wanted me to go first - but she just couldn't bring herself to do it on her own- I am guessing people thought I was a horrible mom waiting at the bottom as my 3 yo sobbed at the top - she was crying b/c she wanted to go but just couldn't bring herself to do it alone - DH and I really thought she wasn't ready but we were not going to stop her from trying something new - we were a little relieved when she finally gave up on her own - I guess sometimes even a little daredevil needs her mommy!

I imagine once she gets inside ToT she might be a little scared but I know she will love it!!!

This will be our first trip to WDW and I have a 6 yr old DD that has to ride anything and everything she is tall enough for (takes after me) I get the comments and the looks all the time, I have just learned to ignore them. Although I usually smirk at them when we exit the ride and DD is grinning from ear to ear

Yup, as I always say, every child is different! On my first trip to DL, I was 7, and my sis was 5. She went on Space Mt on that first trip. I was 10 before I was willing to try it.

Once, I was in the chatroom here on the DIS, and a lady popped in and asked what would be good for her 3 and 7 year old sons. I started out saying "well, it depends on what kind of things they like," and before I could elaborate, she got all huffy and left!

I see quite a variation of reactions towards the characters. There are little babies who squeal with glee, and there are toddlers who run in terror. Sometimes, you think they are scared, but then they'll suddenly love it. Other times they seem just fine and then start to shriek.
