Has anyone driven from Vero to Fort Lauderdale?

I booked an Inn room for my family for our Allure of the Seas cruise in January. My plan was to drive from Charleston to Vero ( looks to be 7-8 hours ) and spend the night, then driving into Fort Lauderdale in the morning. Well, it looks like FLL is only about 100ish miles from Vero. So, now I'm thinking I should cancel Vero and spend the extra 1-2 hours in the car and book a park and sail hotel.

Anyone done the drive who could give me some advice?

Vero to FLL is about 200 miles, not 100. I think you're doing the right thing, by staying at Vero Beach.

Per Gogle maps, it's about 134 miles VB to Ft. L, about 2.5-3 hours.

We are most likely going to spend Sat. in FLL then do Vero after the cruise.
