Has anyone done Tusker House Character Lunch?

We're planning our ADR's for our november trip. We definitely want great character interaction for our kiddos but would like to keep trying some new places. Saw that Tusker House is now a character lunch as well. The menu looks similar to Boma? Maybe? Who are the characters and what did you think?

We did the lunch in January (myself, DD - 30, DGD - 6 and DGD - 14 months). Food was good. Everyone found something they liked to eat. There is ethnic food there, but also mac & cheese and hotdogs for the kids, pork roast and beef for adults if you don't care to sample other foods. Donald Duck is outside for pictures - he doesn't come inside. The othe characters were Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy Duck. It's a smaller place and the interaction was great. They even get the kids up and "parade" around the room with instruments. My granddaughter loved it. Was able to get up close to the characters and they ended up coming around to the table twice during our lunch.

If you want good character interaction (Donald outside, then Mickey, Daisy and Goofy coming to tables inside), make the earliest lunch reservation you can, and then show up 15 minutes before that time. The restaurant will be much less crowded, and you will probably get multiple visits from each of the characters.

It is easily my favorite in-park restaurant other than a couple of World Showcase places. It's not Boma, but it would not be a stretch to call it "Boma lite". Be sure to try as much of the African-style stuff as you can, but save some room for the decidedly-mainstream bread pudding with vanilla sauce.

Thanks for the info... it sounds great... we are going to try to get an early reservation there. i think my fam will love it!
