Hi! We don't even know if the castle is available for the date we want. I am just impatient and keep thinking about it. We got info from disney - but there really aren't any pictures and not much more info then there is on the website.

Has anyone done it before? If so what was your experience like? Do you have any pictures/videos you would like to share?

Thank you!

Ok so I just found the old thread about this - I guess its a bit redundant.

I feel like such an idiot somehow I totally mixed up swan boat landing with the plaza landing. I feel like I saw a video clip at one point of a wedding at plaza landing. - am I totally nuts??

i have seen a video of a couple getting married right on the stage in front of the castle. so ur not nuts.

Thats what I want!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like it makes what they do now look so stupid. I guess the only thing that makes me feel better is that if it really did cost $500K then I guess I am reasonable enough to not pay that much for a wedding.

I wish they still offered the package though. I would love to see all the info on it.

I'm doing the castle wedding! I think the people who had in in front of the steps won a contest.

  Beautiful! I'm not affraid to say that I'm terribley jealous.

Sabrina I just sent you a PM with my never ending list of questions - SORRY!!!

I am very jealous as well - its the perfect wedding. It really is. I guess I am glad that its not available anymore just because even though we could never afford it I would still be sooo tempted.

I know you can still do that exact wedding at Disneyland for $100K but unless you live on the west coast its kind of a long flight for everyone.

Sigh.

Wow, I wish I could have that wedding!
If you are willing to pay the price, I don't see why someting like that would not still be offered? You would most likely have to rent out the Park (or at least part of it) so it would be quite expensive and it would have to be a day the Park was available. It sounds kinda like that is what the couple on the website did. Corporations do just that all of the time and I'm sure they have some say in what goes on at their events. I went to a private event a few years ago where there was a little awards ceremony on the stage and then the Guests went back to Fantasyland and some of the rides were open and there was a DJ/dance floor in Ariel's Grotto area and food tales set up closer to the castle courtyard. Something like that would be waaaaaay above my budget but if you can afford it, I don't see why it is not doable? If you are interested I would talk to whoever books the conventions/private events for Disney and explain the situation to them. The wedding dept probably does not do something like that very often (I'm guessing a lot of brides are scared away from a MK ceremony after they hear the cost of the $28, 000 wedding!) and therefore they might not have a lot of info. What a great wedding that would be if you could do something like that!

I think Disney are VERY misleading in all their brochures/advertising when it comes to a castle wedding.

I know i've read (this is on their disney weddings website) the words "If you want to get married infront of the castle ....." Im sorry, but off to the side with a tree and landing gazebo in your way is not anyones opinon of "In front of the castle". Although once in the actual area saying your vows do you actually have an un-obscured view of the side of the castle (lets face it, unless your dead in front of the castle, it's never going to be a view of the front of the castle).

To be honest, i'd never say no to an MK ceremony (well actually thats a lie because I have said no because of the time frames), but i'd rather put the extra money i'd pay for a boat landing place, to the actual celebration part of my day, then do a MK photo shoot where you WILL have photos of the castle (if your good with photoshop you could always impose a group shot of the entire wedding party infront of the castle at a later date :rotfl:

I remember reading the planning journal of the couple who paid for the wedding in front of the castle (not the competition winners - the ones on the website), and how much hassle and time it took him to get disney to agree to let them have their wedding there, thats not taking into account the extortionate price he had to pay and the rediculous hours they had to adhere to.

But it's each to their own and i'd wish any bride good luck no matter where they were having their wedding, and it's your day so why not go for what you want:thumbsup2

Sigh. I kind of agree. I still don't know if its even available and I am completely confused. Before when I was all excited about it I thought it was at Plaza Landing and completely mixed the two up. I really am not a huge fan of Old Swan Boat Landing. You guys are right you can't even really see the castle from there. If we did it we would scale down a breakfast reception to be the bare bones of a reception - so thats where the trade off in price is.

Now I am just not so excited. Not that we could ever even begin to afford to do this - I am just curious - What does it cost to rent out a park for an evening?

Wow how nice is the photos of them in the carridge on main st with the castle in the back ground too nice i love it i want it lol

can you pay to have the carridge in your MK photo shoot because I would pay a good amount of money to have a photo like that
