Has Anyone Done the 24 Hour Magic Kingdom Event?

We arrive on Friday, May 22nd and I was considering jumping into the fray that evening at MK. Then I noticed that the very next day, MK has EMH until 3am. Has anyone done this event? How crowded was it around midnight? Still crazy? At first I thought it would be a no brainer to wait until the next day, but then thought about how crowded MK is on Saturdays. Either night, we would be arriving no earlier than say 10:30 or 11pm. Thoughts? Experiences? TIA!!!

I went in 2013, it just happened to coincide with our trip. At midnight, it was busy!! There were people walking around with sleeping children in strollers and still roughing it! At midnight, most rides had mid-day wait times (30 min for buzz lightyear and BTMRR, much longer for Space Mountain, etc) I think the crowds drop around 3am. So, if you are planning to be there at the odd hours (3-6am) you'll find lighter crowds then.

I expect this Friday night 24 hour thing to be just completely nuts because every local with an AP can attend it. I thought about it for a second and I immediately decided no based on how crowded it will be the entire time.

We also attended in 2013...........we arrived at 6am. The initial crowd was big.........but when you got into the park it all spread out nicely. We had no trouble getting on rides. Did SpaceM and SplashM multiple times in a row. We left a bit after 12noon, when it started to get crowded. Came back around 7pm and never got past Main St. due to the huge crowds. We did see the fireworks but you couldn't move at all..........so we turned around and headed back to the Yacht Club. Not sure if it got better last year.

Oooooh . . . looks like I may skip it. Thought it would be fun in a novel sort of way but in no way do I want to be wall to wall at midnight. May just try the next evening's EMH.
