Has anyone done a mini trip to WDW and driven?

Just wondering as I am suffering major Disney withdrawl if anyone has done a mini trip, 4-6 nights and driven down. What are the pros and cons. Just can't take not going for one more day! I need a dose of Disney bad and was thinking May, last time we were there in May and it was hot. My ds6 has epilepsy so need to watch the heat as it can have an effect on him having seizures (although he is medicated so mostly they are controlled.)

We are taking 2 mini trips next yr. It takes us about 7hrs. to get down there so, we are leaving on a Thurs. around 3:00 and ck into Pop about 10 and start our 1st full day on Fri. I've never done the mini trips but I know it will be fun no matter how many days you are there.

If its 4 to 6 days and you have flexibility as to when you can go....I would seriously consider waiting for a DING on SWA.
IMHO....driving down for such a short stay is not advisable.

Hi, there is a DING to Tampa right now for the month of May! We are going the May long weekend, we go on the Thursday night and come back the Monday. We fly out of Buffalo and rent a vehicle.

We also take 4 day trips down to WDW and leave Thursday evening, from Buffalo, come back Monday, late afternoon. SWA's great DING fares make it so easy! I chose both non-stop flights.

By using Disney's Magical Express, total transportation costs are minimal.

My next little trip is at the beginning of May, a breather for my older DS after he finishes classes at UWO and a fix for me!

I would never drive 22-24 hours for a mini-trip but that is just my opinion
