Has anyone done a Hilton Timeshare presentation?

They called me the other day & offered me Hilton Homewood suites in Lake Buena Vista with my family (5 in all) for 4 days/ 3 nights for $189.00 for the trip. They said there is a 2 hour timeshare presentation. I have only been to the DVC presentation which is very low pressure. Any idea how Hilton is?

Anyone ever stay at the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista? I looked it up online & there are no photos of the facility at all.

We stayed there about 5 years ago. We had a suite with 2 beds in the bedroom and a pull out sofa and table and chairs in the living room. There was also a microwave oven and mini-fridge. Breakfast was included along with a managers happy hour in the afternoon (free beer, mix drinks (not premium brands) and popcorn). I'm not sure they still do all of that though.

The pool is an indoor/outdoor combo so it can be used year round. My family really enjoyed the hotel. But one word of caution...don't let them give you the room directly above the gift shop. The noise when they raise and lower the security gate at opening and closing will wake you up. They were nice and comped us a free night due to ruining our sleep and they moved us.

When we stayed we were staying mostly on Hilton points (6 of the nights with one night paid out of pocket...they comped that night so our stay was completely free). We haven't returned only because their rates were too expensive vs. other options. My husband and kids would be happy to stay there again.

Here is the hotel's own page. There are a few photos but not many.

I am sorry, I made a mistake. They offerered me Homewood Suites in Lake Buena Vista. Not Embassy. Sorry for the error.

That one is a brand new hotel that just opened within the last month or two. I imagine that is why there are no photos yet online. There are two reviews on trip advisor. Ignore the 3 that rate it a 1 because not being informed about the delayed opening. The 2 real reviews by people that stayed at the hotel gave it 5's.

No other timeshare presentation compares to DVC, expect very high pressure.

If you can handle it, then it's a great deal.

When we stayed at the Hilton at Seaworld, we went on the timeshare tour. It wasn't high pressure.

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a Hilton Honors member and will frequently stay in Hilton brand hotels for business (I was just in the Doubletree at Universal in March for a week).

We did that several years ago and got the DTD Doubletree Guest Suites. We received two adult three day Seaworld tickets. We like the Hilton Grand Vacation Club, but we were already DVC members and really didn't want to buy any more. They showed us about 1 hour of the presentation, asked us what we thought, told them we were DVC and they let us go. We got the tickets and the Doubletree Guest Suites for three nights for $199.

Hilton Honors just called us again about two weeks ago and offered us the same deal you got. Only I wasn't home (I'm the HH member) and my husband told them he would have to discuss it with me. A supervisor came on the line and offered him the same package for $99 for three nights/four days.

He held them on the home phone while he called me on his cell phone. I told him it would cost us about $2000 to go for three nights since we don't have tickets, we'd have to board the animals and we'd either have to fly or drive ( and stay in a hotel going down and back). So we passed on the deal.

HGVC isn't as hard core as some, but a little more so that DVC was when we did it in 1997.

We have done both the Sheraton and Marriott Timeshare presentations. We went in with our minds set that we were not interested and had no intention of buying, as tempting as it is!

One time we walked away with a $100 cash, and the second we got two adult disney tickets. As long as you do not give in to the temptation, it is a cheap disney vacation.

Several years ago I did a Hilton TS presentation here, staying at the DTD Hilton. It was very low pressure. After the film and tour they asked for people who were interested further to please stay; all others were given what was promised and we left.

As another poster mentioned, it is a brand new hotel. It shares a side street with a brand new Hilton Garden Inn and a Marriott Residence Inn (which has been there for several years) and is just off Palm Parkway, which is parallel to and just West of I-4.

The Hilton property being developed basically is across Palm Parkway from the hotel. So you will be very close to the Hotel Plaza Blvd entrance to WDW.

I was interested to see this thread. We are going to do the ime share presentation at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club next month. We have done this before with Marriott and the Weston. Marriott is a breeze Weston is more difficult. Glad to hear there is not so much pressure with Hilton. My husband is also a HH member. We will stay there for 3 nights then off to Disney for 5 more. Wahoo!

I have an idea of where it is because we stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista during our first trip to WDW in 2006. Marbella Palms Court was very convenient to DTD. From your description, it sounds like this hotel is right near that.

They originally offered it for $109. but then I told them we were 5 people. That is when she offered me the suite for $189. They also offered Vegas for 2n/3d for $109.

I couldn't reach my DH on the phone & they refused to call back later. They told me I had to accept & pay right then. I turned the deal down. But I discussed it with my DH just in case they do call back. I also got an email from them & I am guessing that if I request info, they would make me another offer.

I recently became a HH club member after staying at the Hampton Inn in Niagara Falls. They sure send out a lot of emails! One of these days I'll catch a really good offer that I can use!

I accepted an offer for either the one by Seaworld or the other new one on Int'l Drive. They called it the Tuscan I think. Haven't decided on the date yet. Can someone tell me what exactly they do? You watch a movie, take a tour? Any specifics would be appreciated. We'll have our kids along. Is it one-on-one, or is it in a group?

We have done the presentation twice and it is very low pressure. You see a film and then they did a tour of the property. We are already Hilton Owners but are going to another presentation in September. We were offered 4 days 3 night at their property on International Drive and got a one bedroom condo for only $99. We are extending the trip with a stay at pop for free dining and MSSSHP.

Do you go with a group of other people or one-on-one? And as a previous poster mentioned, do they ask at some point who is interested and who isn't, and then those that aren't can leave?

That's the same deal we got and we are going in September too, then off to Saratoga Springs for free dining. Have a good time.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We have been Hilton Time Share owners since 2001 and love it. They still call us from time to time and offer the specials that you alll have described and we go for a cheap trip and nothing more. We have gone to Vegas and will be going to NYC in December. The pitch is not high pressure and you just tell them that they are wasting their time with you and that they need to focus on someone who will actually make them money that day :rotfl2:

Okay, just curious. Why would they offer a timeshare presentation to those who already are owners?

To see if lightning will strike tiwce and maybe get youi to buy a second one! Hilton Time Shares never expire and you can will them to your children or grandchildren to use after you are gone. They encourage you to buy more to leave to all of your children LOL. If I understand the DVC correctly they expire after so many years and revert back to disney is that right?
