Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Just finished them!! We've got tons of colors already and we're getting more for our next resort stay at the end of June, so I decided to just GO for it! Here are the three designs I went with... I can't wait to try more!

I posted a "How-To" :teacher: on my blog, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, so I just went with the pictures! I think I'm gonna try out the rub-ons or the temporary tattoos next! :cool1:

I Adore this bee one!!! I'd love to know how you painted it on so neat looking! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I'll have to go and check it out. I did look online and they don't don't have them there. But maybe my local store will.

Not sure where in Indy you live but the Micheals on W 86'th st at Traders Point has several Disney tattoo's and stickers. Good luck hunting and hope you find it easier then I did to decide on which ones I wanted. LOL:lovestruc

So, where can I get the little crystals (beads? sequins?) in the Mickey Head silhouette shape?

I see some folks have made them with one bigger and two smaller stones... But some people really look like theirs are a single THING made in that shape.

Thanks!

Tiffany Micheals sells a page of these sequined Mickey Head stickers for about $2.99 or $3.99, several different colors per sheet.

What is everyone using for base coat and top coat? Just clear nail polish?

I did not use a base coat on one. These Frozen tattoos I used white nail art polish underneath:

Snowflake nail art stickers + glitter make up the snow swirl with some silver polish for the portrait outline. I made sure to glitter up the snowflakes around Elsa's head. I made the mistake of adding Anna before I closed the band (had already started the hole-side with snow). Always close the band first! Heh. I did that with the PotC band, too. You'd think I'd have learned.

Very pretty! Where did you get those tattoos?

Just an FYI. Both my Tangled MB and Cinderella MB held up quite well during my 5 days of non-stop Disney touring - even the 24 hour day at MK. They look just the same as the day I made them. I did take them off to swim and shower, but they survived 95 degree days, Splash mountain, rain storms, champagne spills and other various adventures.

My second magic band. Much happier with the placement of the tattoos. The pink band made Cindy's dress a little more purple than blue. Used some silver glitter polish for highlighting the castle and Cindy's gown and a touch of gold glitter in Cindy's hair.

Yay! Thanks for letting us know!

Yay I finished our magic bands! Woo Hoo:cool1: although I need to warn you I am not an artist and it is painfully obvious. :rotfl2

They look great! Good job!

Craft stores ie Michael's, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby.

The only one piece set I could find were in the scrapbooking section.. I could only find red, black and clear/white. And they were not oval shaped ears but round.
So I used peel and stick gems that came with several sizes in a color I preferred. Found them on an end cap so don't know which section they really belong in.
Applied w/ super glue. Will know in 2 weeks if they hold up.

I used 2" duct tape.

pressed MB in the tape (smoothed out lumps and bumps by stretching).

IMAGE_1564.jpg">

Used my nail to find outline of the colored part of MB.

Box cutter to follow the outline.

Even if it does not hold up well in heat and water (though it is Duct tape, which is pretty tough!), it peels off easily.

Hope that is helpful! Amazon has a ton of choices.

I love the duct tape idea! I'm definitely going to try this! There are even disney themed rolls of duct tape on Amazon!

We used temporary tattoos on all of our bands in April. They were perfect the entire trip. We swam with them on and everything. However my daughter kept hers on her dresser and it is peeling a little now. But that is about six weeks later.

Thanks that's what I will be doing then. I just wish I could find Pocahontas tattoos :/

Thanks. :)

Unfortunately, completely opposite side of town for me. And I don't have a car. There is a Michaels right by my house, but I haven't been able to get over there. Had to spend the last couple of days dealing with a death in the family. :( May try getting over there tonight or sometime tomorrow.

I tried nail polish on mine yesterday. I tried it on this morning and the polish cracked. Spent about an hour trying to get all the polish off. Won't do that again. I'm thinking about just getting some glow in the dark polish or something glow in the dark and just putting it on the Mickey.

What kind of polish was it? The hardening kind/gels and quick dry tend to crack more. Also, keeping it shut while painting will keep it from cracking (same as tattoos).

I think it's the hardening kind. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I just saw the pretty color and had to have it.
