Has anyone converted their parkhopper plus tickets into MYW tickets?

We have 2 adult PHP tickets with 6 park days and 4 plus days left. I was wondering how generouos Disney is when you convert one to the other. We will be converting to the 10 day with all add-ons. Has anyone done this type of conversion yet?

FOr trade up to MYW, I am told you get the gate price of the old tickets at the time of their manufacture, prorated. In your case it is 4/6, or 2/3 of said price.

So if you paid $266. for those tickets (according to one of my brochures a coupl'a years old) you get $177. credit towards the $415. cost of a 10 day non-expiring MYW ticket with hopping and plusses, you pay $237. more.

If your next vacation is for 8 to 10 days I would suggest not doing the trade-up and buying expiring tickets for all cash. If your vacation is for 1 to 4 days I would suggest using the old tickets (with 4 days each) as-is.

I think I am following you. My tickets were originally 7 day park passes with 4 of the options. I have 6 days, 4 options left, so it would be a 6/7ths prorata amount towards the new tickets. I always buy the longest best, nonexpiring deal. Then I can always justify coming back to use up the tickets. We just moved to Savannah, so we are planning lots of weekend trips during off season, which is the only time that DH can tolerate WDW.. I won't saqy he is a Grumpy spouse, but , OK, he is a Grumpy spouse...I wanted to get as much info about it before I go, since the only place (I am told) that you can convert is at guest relations at the parks... Thanks for the info!!
