Has anyone bought their wedding dress online?

Hi,

I found the perfect dress but of course it isn't in my budget. My mom found it online cheaper but I am nervous to buy a wedding dress online. Has anyone done this? How did it work? Was the dress what you thought? What online place did you use? And anything else I may need to consider.

We are doing a vow renewal on the cruise but I have to wait til 2011 because my hubby will be in Iraq next year. We are trying to do most of the planning now because he wants to be part of it....

Any advice or tips would be welcome.

:yay:

I got mine from eBay. My situation is a bit different than yours as I hadn't tried on ONE dress before I picked one from eBay. When I got it home, it looked nice and fit well and ended up being perfect for my wedding. Lucky!

I would say that if it's a gown you have tried on and like, there should be no fears on ordering online. You may want to check with the Better Business Bureau on the company you purchase it from, just in case. Otherwise, go for it! The seller of the auction I won had great feedback and happened to be a bridal shop in California that was going out of business.

I bought mine on eBay too! I tried it on first, but it was the wrong size so I took a chance and ordered one size down and it fit perfectly! (You kinda can't screw up a corset bodice... :cutie:).

So I'll echo what Missy said - if you have tried it on already and can find it someplace reputable, go for it. :thumbsup2 (And I would definitely advise trying it on because wedding dress sizes don't always match street clothes' sizes, and they vary by designer.)

I originally saw mine online but ended up buying it by phone from the bridal store - so no I had never seen it in person or tried it on in the right size/color. I wasn't worried because they said I could send it back within a week of recieving it if I didn't like it. Luckilly its PERFECT.

If its your dream dress and thats how you can afford to get it - go for it! If you are sort of wishy washy on whether its the right dress or not then I would keep looking.
