We may have to switch our vacations around and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to recently book a vacation for the second or third week of March? I have to wait for MS to open to check availability...

Secondarily, how is this timeframe for vacationing? I've never been during March, how's the weather and how are the crowds?

TIA!

At that time of March, you might run into Spring Break crowds, which are some of the highest of the year at WDW. Resorts book up quickly at that time, so it's good you're calling now. It's not yet the 7 month window for March, so you still have the home resort advantage to work with.

And the second week would probably be less crowded than the third week of March.

We always go to WDW in March because DSs' private school closes for a two wk. spring break. Generally, we book our home resort, OKW, at the 11 month window. But we have had success in booking other resorts at the 7 month window.
March is a great time to visit WDW. We usually go for the second wk. of March. Weather is good, not a lot of rain. However, the crowds can be high. Many colleges have spring break and I'm always surprised at the number of college students who elect to go to WDW. Seems like a big change from when I was in college, but then again that was in the Stone Ages.

Easter will be next March 27th! Very busy, peak season. The weather is beautiful. I will be at VWL and on a cruise March 20-27!
Can't wait!!!!!!!!! Availability is limited, so good luck!

Ok guys you are SCARING me... how bad will the crowds be, let's say March 6th-13th... that would be our first week... we would stay through the 18th, but there are plenty of non-park things we could do, so crowds wouldn't be an issue.... but what about the 6th-13th??

We are thinking to switch the children to an independant school & this would be their vacation schedule here on out...

TIA!!!

We've been in March (the 2nd & 3rd weeks) the last 2 trips and I've always felt the crowds to be very manageable. Those familiar with the parks and FP will have no problem. Granted with Easter being in March the park will be getting more crowded near the end of the month. The weather both trips was perfect with us spending everyday at the pool or a water park. We love this time of year!!

This past year we did the 2nd week in March, and it was perfect. in 05 we are going for Easter...just keeping our expectations reasonable, knowing there will be large crowds. Considering shortening the trrip and trying to book 5 days in Feb too.

OK, I feel much better now, thanks for the info!

I called MS & the March dates are available... course the standard view 1 bedroom over Friday & Saturday are 51 points each night  I think we might use our Busch Garden's AP's those two days & stay there!

All March advice greatly appreciated ::yes::

We are planning on traveling during spring break next year.

I have been told that the crowds are offset by the near perfect weather!!!

We often go durin the week of July 4th--crowded, hot, and daily thunderstorms!!!

So hopefully in March we will only have to deal with the crowds.

I booked at 11 months bwv studio bw view march 13 -18 the seniors in our town go on senior trip march 15 -19

We will be going in March for the first time, 5th thru 12th. We are staying at the BCV and it will be a family of 12. First time trying the large family event, so hopefully things will work out and it will not be too crowded.

We booked at the 11month window, but had no trouble adding on a day a couple of weeks ago. We will be in 1 1bdrm and 2 studios.

We've gone in March twice now. It's wonderful, the weather is beautiful. We've been really lucky and have only run into the Spring Break crowd once and that was at the end of the trip. Still, I'd rather go during March with the nice weather than in July with the hot weather. Just get out into the parks early.

Quite a few CMs have told me that the week before Easter is more crowded than the week after. I would expect that the week starting Sunday, March 20, '05 would be when things start to really pick up. We always have to go at Easter because of DS school calendar.

We were there 9 years ago for the two weeks leading up to Easter. The crowds were fine the first week, but got progressively worse the 2nd week. Easter weekend was terribly busy... I recall a 3hr line for Splash Mountain.

Going March 12-18 for baseball spring training!! This will be our first March trip. But since we are mainly going for baseball we won't be hitting the parks much. We might take our little one to MK for his first time (he'll be around 16 mos. by then) but other than that-- its a no-parks trip.

We have reservations at BCV (1 bdrm) right now but planning on switching to OKW at 7 month window if possible. Lower points!! Plus we haven't stayed there yet. :)

Loveswdw beat me to it. March is great for spring training baseball. We always go to at least one game. We haven't limited ourselves to WWOS. We have travelled to Tampa Bay for a game at Legends Field. But our favorite spring training site is Vero Beach which has Dodgertown. If you like baseball, consider catching a game. We suggest night games, because of the FL heat, but a day game, w/ seats in the shade, is a lot of fun.
