Has anyone been to Villa del Palmar Flamingos

Hello DIS Board, this is my first post! I am a fairly new DVC member and I am looking for an exchange and Villa del Palmar Flamingos in Nuevo Vallarta looks very nice. I was wondering if anyone has been to this resort and if so what they thought. I was also considering Villa del Palmar in Cabo but found some very bad reviews of it on trip advisor. Also I plan to travel at the end of March 08 and was wondering what the chances of getting an exchange during that time might be.

I have been reading these boards for a few weeks now and everyone seems to provide some very useful information. Thanks in advance.

I have been to the one in cabo. We were there last May and I would go there again. I did not use my points, it was a work trip. I believe it is under new management now, but I am not sure.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom. It had 2 full baths and a full kitchen. Very big. Master has a king and a pull out sofa in living room. I do remember the bed being very firm. The rooms are really clean, maid service was good (don't remember anything wrong with them). The hotel itself is very clean. The food was on par with other hotels I have stayed at in Cabo. Not bad food, just average. The pools are really nice as well. The hotel is in a great location to the main part of Cabo. You can walk or cab it for under 10 bucks.

I forgot to mention that on property there is a grocery store, ice cream store and movie rental place.

Thanks MinnieFan4ever, I originally requested an exchange for the one in Cabo but was scared by the reviews. I had a friend who stayed there last March and he said it was nice as well. Not sure why it seems to have so many bad reviews on tripadvisor.com.

Wow- just read the reviews from trip adv. I can see why you wouldn't want to stay there.

When are you going? I just talked to my husband and some co-workers are going there in a few months. I will try to remember to post again when they get back to let you know how it was.
