Just wondering if anyone has been to the Sci-Fi Diner lately? We go to Disney World a lot and thought it would be some place different to go eat. We have been to the 50's diner (I think they call it Mom's Diner) and loved it. How was the food, fun, etc.

My family ands I always go to the Sci Fi. It is themed on an old drive in movie. You sit in cars, which are your tables. Some of the waiters and waitresses are on roller skates. You watch some really old, bad movie trailers on a movie screen. The highlight is THEY HAVE THE BEST MILKSHAKES!!!! Price is reasonable. It can get busy at times, but you can make a revervation for later in the day and go to some of the attractions and come back at your time. It is a must for us every time we go to MGM to eat at the Sci Fi

I agree with the above poster; go to the Sci-Fi for the atmosphere, and the milkshakes...or any of their other desserts.... Don't go for the regular food, as it is sub-par, at best! However, we enjoy going as the kids like to sit in the cars, and watch the screen, so we usually make a PS for mid-afternoon, and have a mid-afternoon ice-cream stop there.... Besides, when the heat gets really bad outside, it's nice to go in where it's cool and dark! :)

We always go for lunch - it's a tradition and the kids love it. I always get the burgers and they are really good. SHakes, sundaes etc are wonderful. My kids like to get the drinks with the glow in the dark ice cubes.

I love it, too. I am a sucker for atmosphere! Like other folks have replied, it isn't fancy food but the ambience can't be beat. If you are looking for a place to try that is different, then you should try it!

We went there last week at the spur of the moment. We didn't have a PS and we only has to wait 15 min. We really enjoyed it and will be going back in September.

We went in Dec. for lunch. It was okay food-wise. The atmosphere was really fun...the light up ice cubes are cool. I believe the dinner menu offers more choices. I felt like there were not many choices for lunch, and wasn't thrilled with my food, but it was okay.

We went in September and unfortunately did not enjoy the food at all. The atmosphere was pretty cool and it was just a really novel place to dine.

We went last Thursday for dinner. Enjoyed by all. Kids had burgers; loved them. I had soup and salad; salad was excellent. Soup good. DH had fried catfish, coleslaw and hush puppies. Very good and we know catfish! It was on the spicy side, but excellent! Strawberry milkshake and my DD received a sundae for her Bday dessert. Both were wonderful!

WE WENT IN JULY AND I LOVED IT THE KIDS LOVED THE ICE CUBES THAT LIGHT UP. IT WILL BE ON MY LIST OF PLACES TO GO TO NEXT TIME !!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I had dinner there about 2 weeks ago and didn't like the food (BBQchicken sandwich) that much, but I sure loved the restaurant.
The atmosphere and the service were awesome. So I really will be back.
And I totally agree with some other posters, this is a place to go for the experience and not for the food. Very strange for a restaurant, but okay, there are stranger things on this planet :) :rotfl: :)
