I just found out about this place www.mousesurplus.com , and I'm dying to buy the Wilderness Lodge Room Set, but it's 1300.00 for the room with shipping... It's a 15 piece set, so it's a lot of pieces, but I don't know in what type of condition the furniture is in... if it's really bad, I wouldn't want it, but if it's in good shape, I would want it...

Has anyone ordered furniture from them or been to the warehouse? The warehouse is in Orlando.... I wish I'd known about it last week because I would have gone over there! What bad timing on my part!

:wave2: Hi! Last year I bought 2 daybeds from them from the Polynesian and some other furniture. Shipping was very expensive. The guys from the trucking company carried it into my garage, but still... ka-ching. lol

If you can, I would go to their warehouse and pick it up.

HI I never, brought anything from them, but I looked at their ebay store and it seems that they ship slowly. I would definitely pick it up if you could.

I also thought it was a little harsh that whenever a purchaser gave them negative feedback, they would respond by posting negative feedback to the purchaser. One or two purchasers even posted that mousesurplus had emailed them and told them to take down the negative feedback or that they would post negative feedback for them....which I think may be against Ebay rules!!

How did you find the quality of the daybeds? Were they still in good shape?

The furniture package has 15 pieces including the armoire, a dresser, mirror & queen bed... add in a table, two chairs and various other things, the shipping IS expensive.... it's 750 for shipping & I can add additional pieces & the shipping stays the same... I'd love to pick it up, but we are in Massachusetts, I'd at least like to see it before buying it, but no can do on that front! I'm hoping others might have some experience with the condition of the furniture that comes in!

Mabye they could email you some close up shots of it?? I would think that different people probably have different feedback with them, because each piece of furniture comes from a different hotel room, so what it "endured" could be different.. KWIM?

I haven't been to the warehouse, but I did purchase the WL set of furniture from mousesurplus via Ebay. I'm in Virginia, my shipping was around $500 for the set.

I did not have any issue with the delivery time. It was about a month from winning the auction to actual delivery at my home, I believe. I thought it was a reasonable time frame. Also, something was missing from my shipment, and I notified the sellers and they sent that to me no additional charge, they were very cordial.

However, a word of warning. This furniture is USED.... used by many different people over the course of a few years and can be very badly nicked up. It is also made out of MDF with veneer (except for the table top of the round table, which is oak).

For example, the dresser I received has a large gash on the side of it, looks like someone scraped it when moving it out of the room. The mirror has small square pegs that fit into an opening on the front of it, the mirror I received is missing 2 of them, so there is a small hole where each of these pegs should be inserted. The table with the 2 chairs is in pretty good shape, no major damage. The armoire is very, very, heavy (being made out of MDF), and the outside of mine is in pretty nice shape. However, the front doors don't close perfectly, they bulge out a bit, and are not aligned. The bedside table is in pretty good shape, a couple of nicks probably from a vacuum. The lamps are in ok shape, although I don't know if they work or not, as I haven't brought them into the house yet.

So, if you want to get the best pieces in the best condition - I'd go to the warehouse directly to pick them out yourself if you can. The images of the warehouse on the web show MANY, MANY pieces of WL furniture, so they have plenty to choose from! :)

grgich, thank you so much for all of the information!!! I'm really surprised that the furniture is MDF with veneer though!! My goodness, I always thought the stuff was solid wood... This is going into a basement apartment, so I'm staying away from MDF's as they can absorb more moisture.... doesn't sound like this is the way to go for us... but I'll keep an eye on the auctions, you never know! What size curtain came with the auction? It was mentioned as being included, but didn't give a size... I'm looking for a curtain for a patio!

Again, thank you so much!

The warehouse is worth seeing even if you don't plan on buying anything--an attraction in and of itself. There is a monorail car in the center of the floor (assuming it hasn't sold yet!) and just row upon row of "stuff," all Disney. If you have a car, it really is worth the trip. Be sure to Mapquest it, tho, it's a nondescript building in the middle of an industrial park, you would never know what is inside.

Hey, We purchased from ebay and picked up the WL armoire, dresser, 2 end table, table and 2 chairs, and outdoor patio set. We were very pleased with overall quality. Because we picked them up, we did get to see which one we wanted. THe person helping load was very helpful. We also had ebayed and picked up 2 DCL lounges and 4 DCL chairs. They need some work but vinyl is in great shape and we are very very pleased with them. If you can, I recommend coming and picking them up. (You needed another reason to come to Florida and WDW again this year anyways)! I will answer any other questions that I can about our experience.
Thanks,
Suzy :wave2:

Thanks guys, unbelievably enough we JUST came back from Florida on Saturday, but I was not aware of the warehouse! Now here I find myself... I'll keep an eye on their auctions for pieces I know I'd be happy with either way & I'll save the big purchases for a time when we go down again... October we'll be going down, so we will see then :)

You are STILL waiting!!?????????!! Did you buy them from EBay?? Have they responded to you?? That is pretty inexcusable time frame i would say! Wow!! :sad2:

June 5th IS too long to wait! They told me the stuff would ship out in 30 days, so if you've gone nearly 60 days, that sounds like 15 days too long IMHO...

what all do they sell there? is it just furniture? we're driving NEXT MONTH! we may have to swing by!

I ordered a print from them on June 12th thru EBAY still don't have it or a refund since apparently UPS lost the item. Its been at a UPS location in my state since June 27th....I write to them every other day awaiting a refund since I doubt I will ever see the item. So I'm at 7 weeks + and waiting

Do you know if you can buy right there at the warehouse if you go there for a visit? It seems like there is so much more in the warehouse than what is in the ebay store. I would love to go look around when we go FL next. Sounds like fun!

chris1gill, you're welcome, glad I could help. I was also a little taken back that the furniture was mostly MDF, I didn't remember it that way when we stayed at WL back in 2000. I think I was thinking more of the lobby furniture!

The curtain that came with the set is the size for a sliding patio door. It has the pins in the pleated top portion (the more formal old fashioned style), and I would estimate its about 100" wide, about 84" high. I haven't figured out what I want to do with mine yet.... it's a very simple tan/white fabric, lined, very heavy....

MDF is "medium density fiberboard" which is basically pressed wood fibers.

The stuff I got was like any used hotel furniture. Not very beat up, but not new either.

BTW my husband drove down to Florida to the warehouse and had my daybeds and other furniture shipped using a trucking company (can't recall the name). If you are there and are able to bring the items with you it is, of course, cheaper. Next time I am bringing along our van or rent a uhaul. lol
