Has anyone been to DL for Thanksgiving?

We are going to spend Thanksgiving at DL. Has anyone done it before? How are the crowds? Do they have anything special going on for the day?

this year. Thanksgiving day is actually crowded. I was surprised last year. The Monday-Wednesday before was okay but the crowds picked up Thursday and lasted through the weekend.

Oh ok. We will be there Thursday and Saturday. My sister will be there Thursday - Saturday. I have to buy an AP ticket for my boys and husband. I wonder if I should get there early since they only sell so many.

Thanksgiving was the last day of our vacation 4 years ago (so I can’t help with information about Friday & Saturday), and the crowds were huge. We left the park around noon, and I remember it being really difficult to move around the park and that the standby time for Splash Mountain was 105 minutes. It was a different park then though, Space Mountain & BTMRR were down and Nemo and Buzz Lightyear did not exist. Maybe the crowds will be spread out a bit more now than they were then. We are from WA and generally go during spring break or Thanksgiving, and that Thanksgiving day was by far the busiest we have seen.

A few years back my birthday was on Thanksgiving, so I chose to go to DL. Oh...my...goodness. They were busier than I've ever seen them in my life. I asked the next day how many people were counted for Thanksgiving Day, and they said 65,000. We literally couldn't move around! It didn't seem to let up much for the rest of the weekend either.

Um Maybe I might rethink this. It doesn't sound like it would be a good day to go. I will have to talk to my sister. I am sure between the two of us we will want to go.

I've been to DL on Thanksgiving for the past 4 years. It's definitely very busy.
