What were your experiences? What was the atmosphere like? I have never been but DW is interested in going. Thanks

Asked the same question today when we ate there a few years back we had a great meal and our table was right next to the tank . It was very cool when one of the divers came up to the window while we were eating just to say HI. Though when chowing down on seafood you have to wonder if those fish are giving you the evil eye. I have got response both pro and con on recent experince though.

We were there the last week of November for lunch. The food was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere with the tank and divers.

We were there over Christmas and thought it was our best meal on property. We have been there a couple of times and have had very good experiences each and every time. Service is not the best, but it has never been bad. I had the Blackened Catfish with pepperjack cheese grits and I must say it is one of the best catfish preparations I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone without hesitation.

:thumbsup2

We were there in December and were very happy with service & dinner itself. About 5 years ago we promised we would never go back it was horrible but gave it another shot and I am so happy we did!

Give it a shot!:fish:

I have never had a bad meal here. I get the catfish every time, though. It is great. The atmosphere is very nice, especially if you get near the tank. It definitely has a calming effect after spending the day rushing in the park.

I often hear a lot a reviewers bash this restaurant, but I don't understand it. We are going back in April. :thumbsup2

We were there in June 2007 for lunch. Food was good. Atmosphere left a bit to be desired, partly because we were in the very back row and next to server's kitchen entrance. Was rather noisy as well. But was still a neat experience that should be done at least once.

We ate there in August 2007 for dinner. It was wonderful!!!

We were on the DDP and everything went well. Our server was slow, but good.

The food was VERY good. Even the kids ate their meal. The tank is beautiful!! We saw all sorts of fish. They even gave us a fish guide that showed some of the fish in the tank. During dinner we looked up and there was Mickey scuba diving! The kids thought that was so cool.:goodvibes

We had a great time!!!

We did Coral Reef, DW & kid - we sat in the last row, could barely see the aquarium. Food was less than Disney Par, we had to send back 2 meals for being undercooked, by the time we got it back we were not interested in eating any more. We have vowed not to go there again, there are many more places that we would love to visit....Hope you have a better experience, we may have just had the one bad apple!

....a door next to the kitchen that is.

Someone has to get the seat next to the kitchen.......maybe next time you won't be the one!:wizard:

we were there last week and it was the best meal we had our entire trip. I had the tilapia and DH had the sirloin..both were perfect. DD 8 had mac and cheese and said it was great. We also had the chocolate wave and the mousse for desserts..WONDERFUL!! i would recommend it to anyone

We went in July and the experience overall was great. We especially loved the drinks with the glowing ice cubes and the plastic dolphins on the edges. :thumbsup2 Also, the bread they bring out before your meal is to die for, in my opinion.

It was one of our favorite meals when we were there in December. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was great, too. We had so much fun there and will definitely go back!

We ate there in November. I had mixed feelings. The food was pretty good, our server was nice, and we had a great table, right next to the tank. BUT, there were several unsupervised young children running about. Not sure where their parents were, but we, and the family at the table behind us, certainly did not enjoy having our meal interrupted because we just happened to to be seated at a table with a better view of the fish than they appearantly did. It really didn't leave me feeling like I would want to dine there again on our next trip. :sad1:

The food was good, the experience great - had a front row seat mind you... our server was slow....
Overall, we would go back again...If it had just my family we might not have minded slow service - but my stepmother was in a hurry.... my dd2 slept through 75 of the meal!

You can't blame the restaurant for the kids running about.....that is the fault of the parents who do not know discipline! Sounds like you enjoyed the restaurant, but were put off by the other inconsiderate diners (people should respect other's space). We have always had seats on the second tier in one of the booths so we have never had to deal with the kids running around the tank, and the view was very amazing; you may want to try enjoying this restaurant from a different seat.

:thumbsup2

Steak and deserts great. Had a seat right next to the tank that was great and a few kids did come up to get a better look but so what, that is to be expected. If you want a quite meal stay home or go to a restaurant off disney property, if you want one that is louder go to Ohana.

Have been there twice in the last year. Went in may for our honeymoon and sat pretty far up, still thought the place was really just "cool". Loved it so much that we went back in December. This time we sat right up against the tank. Loved the crab legs, they had them already opened so that I could properly enjoy them and not fight with them to get them out. DH had the mahi mahi and loved it as well (not bad for a guy who swears that he doesn't eat seafood)!

Not hardly! I would never allow my children to run up to the tank and disturb another guest who is having their meal or enjoying their time at the restaurant. I am not saying kids should not have fun and enjoy themselves (WDW is a place for families of course), but I don't want someone else's rowdy kids running up and crowding my family just because they want everything their way........like I said, respect other people and their personal space.
