We had xmas dinner there 2006 and it was great! The service and food were both exceptional. DS had the bison and loved it,DH had steak and I had salmon and the desserts were to die for!

Artist Point. It reminds me of the Ahwanne dining room in Yosemite. Great atmosphere.

My husband and I dined there before we were married back in September 04. Although it was years ago, I'm not sure I would go back. Our server was terrific, but otherwise I was underwhelmed. I think my expectations were so high going in that I was just let down a bit. The food was ok, Wildnerness Lodge is beautiful, but the restaurant itself to me was a pretty casual setting (I expected it to be more romantic somehow) and the food was just ok for the price.

During that trip, we much preferred Flying Fish & California Grill. I haven't been to Jiko, but that would be on my list for a nice dinner out as well.

IMHO, AP specialties are the buffalo and the salmon. I would not order anything but one of those 2

Oh, and the smoked portobello soup is to die for!

It is a very nice restaurant. I have eaten there many times and always enjoyed it. However, I should warn you that when I was there at the end of October 2008 (about 4 weeks ago), I was advised that the buffalo steak (my favorite item) had been removed from the menu and replaced with buffalo short ribs. I tried to order those, but the waitress warned me that they were very fatty and that lots of people had been complaining about them. I went with a regular beef filet (which was quite good) but was disappointed with this menu change.

That's not the current menu, it just changed. You can see the new menu on allears. I'd like to hear some feedback for people who have tried things off the new menu!

One of the main reasons we liked eating here was for the Buffalo Steak. Has anyone tried the new Buffalo Short Ribs? We have a reservation for next week, but now I am thinking about changing.

We have eaten there twice and are scheduled to be there again in January. The steak was great and my husband had the buffalo and he said that was amazing as well.
