Has anyone been through the new POTC?

I haven't been to Disney in a year, and I love POTC. Have the changes been good for the ride been good or bad? Sorry if this question has been asked already... I haven't been on the boards in a while.

As with everything else on this board you will get 50% that love it and 50% that hated it!

I like it. I thought some of the new effects are really cool, and love that the music has been minimized or the audio enhanced such that you can really hear what is being said and pick up on the story line. I couldn't do that before. It makes the ride much more fun. And the Johnny Depp Animitronics are amazing (and I am not a JD fan!)

you just have to ride it and see for your self.

I really thought that the changes were going to be much more drastic, but for the most part, with the exception of maybe the beginning, the are pretty subtle changes. I really liked it!! The actual boat ride wasn't different.

We thought it was better also. The lighting seems better and Captain Jack is incredible. Very life like.

We made a point to ride it first when we were at the Halloween PArty (it had been closed in APril). Our younger DD is Depp obsessed. We found it a welcome update, the new effects are awesome, especially the Captain Jack anamatronics and the Davey Jones scene. A definite

THere's a cool new mist screen with a hologram of Davey Jones. The skeleton on th eleft has been perked up and has a parrot or something on it's shoulder I think. First time we rode it I felt sorry for the woman in front of us. She was dressed for the HP in pirate garb, complete with a nice hat. As we went down the little drop in the dark her hat flew off into the water and was lost forever. THe battle between the Black PEarl and the fort doesn't seem to splash you as much. THe Black PEarl has been spiffed up too.

Looks like it's almost 100% like it. I like the update, too There's a water effect with Davy Jones on it and then the realistic Jack Sparrow shows up a few times. They also updated the audo I think too. It's nice that the ride is now what kids would likely expect.

I really like the Davy Jones scene at the beginning, good addition. Although the Johnny Depp figures are excellent, I don't think they have much of an impact on the attraction at all.

I liked it.It was my first time riding POTC in awhile,so I dont really remember the orignal all that much but I thought that the updates to it was great especially since they made the 2nd POTC and are in the making of the 3rd POTC..Hope this helps
