How are the crowds.

I'm still hoping my trip next December 2nd - 10th will not be very crowded. it is the whole reason we are going then.

Maybe the 50th celebrations are kicking up the crowds.

We were there Oct 30- Nov 4. It didn't seem crowded to me at all, but we didn't go on the weekends though so that might make a difference. We got to the park at opening each day and walked on whatever we wanted. One day we concentrated on FL, the next Adventure Land and Frontier Land. We ususally left about 1:00, so it might have picked up in the afternoon. We had a GREAT time, the only problem was that it was so quiet in the early morning that when we did have to stand in line for 5 minutes my 3 year old couldn't understand why we had to wait!! :)

P.S. We went last year the first week in Dec and it was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations!!!

We went yesterday for a few hours. It was fairly congested in spots but there were minimal waits for everything. Most waits were 5 to 10 minutes. Space was only a 25 minute wait and at 4:00 they were giving fastpasses for 5:20. The Christmas decorating has started and it looks like it's going to be beautiful!

Thanks for the replies. I know there are much more important things in this world to worry about :) but the entire trip was designed to allow our family to ride more than 5 rides in a day (that was the 'best' day of our trip over this past Easter).

We just got back on Sat. from DL. One of the CMs told my DH they were running about 20,000 during the week with the 50th celebration. Sat. are 50,000 and Sun and Fri. are about 30-40,000 people. We did not go on Sat cause I knew it would be very busy but we did go on Sun and Fri. They were busy but not too bad. Fri. the line for Space mountain was 45 min. so we got a fast pass and that was the last ride of our visit. I enjoyed the way the redid it. That was the longest ride wait that we saw. Go early like everyone says. The waits on Fri morning were only 5-10 min. We had a wonderful time! Enjoy your time.

We were there last Sunday through Saturday. Saturday was a God Awful nightmare expecially later in the day. Friday was ok until the evening came. Sunday wasn't too bad. Monday through Thursday was lovely! No crowds at all and fast lines. I would avoid Friday and Saturday if I had it to do over again! The very busy days are good for catching the shows and parades but if you want to get on rides, be prepared to wait!

Crowds are not bad during the week. Weekends are more crowded than normal because of the 50th. If you're going over a weekend, maybe do the less crowded stuff then and do the thrill rides during the week. DCA isn't bad at anytime, so maybe save that for the weekends.

We're planning to be there during that timeframe too. Drive down on 12/9 and come back on 12/11. I really want to see all of the 50th celebration decorations, but can't take any time off of work since I took a fair amount off to go to WDW this year, plus I don't want to have our DS miss anymore school.

Are the weekends that bad? My in-laws went during 9/9 - 9/11 and sad it was crazy.

Should we plan a different weekend closer to Christmas?

This year has brought a lot of locals out.

Especially during Christmas, as it is becoming known that this will be the final year of the Haunted Mansion Holiday unless Tim Burton has a change of heart.

Avoid Saturday afternoons, and you'll be ok! Also, see the fireworks on a weekday, and spend the higher crowd nights riding stuff while other people gawk.

It works. :) :cloud9:

I don't know what the calendar is for Dec, but fireworks were only on Fri and Sat when we were there. Fantasmic was Fri, Sat, Sun. So we didn't get to see the fireworks, but it was worth it to not have to wait in line the rest of the week! :)

I think December 3-4 will be crowded too because of the Candlelight Processional. Hopefully the rest of the trip will be great. We'll be at DL Thanksgiving week and are expecting wall to wall people. Personally I'm hoping for a couple days of rain to drive some people away! We can deal with rain!

We went last Sunday and last night (wednesday) and both were small crowds. We went at 5:00 at night though. Fireworks are only on Friday and Saturday. The Christmas tree and decorations are all up. We just walked on most of the rides. Space mountain had 20min wait and Buzz was about 10 mins.

We arrive a week from Saturday. I know we'll be excited to go to DL that day, but I'm thinking maybe we should just go to DCA to avoid the crowds. Since that's Thanksgiving week should we anticipate the crowds being larger?? DD gets the entire week off, but we're only staying until Wed. afternoon.

We'll be there those exact same days!

DCA is so much less crowded. It's really nice to walk around there. The food is better
than DL too.

I was actually hoping for a little rain to keep some people at home! But with 56-low and 78 high, the weather forecast couldn't be better!
