Has anyone been asked for a resort ID?

Has anyone ever been asked for a resort ID to ride Disney transportation? We've ridden busses, monorails and boats countless times over the years but I can't recall ever being asked to see a Park Hopper.....or for the now-departed EE days, my resort ID.

I also wonder if it's now more prevalent given the heightened security issues.

Just curious!

never on transportation. However I was carded quite frequently in Sept going from resort to resort!

We were in the past, before WDW had checkpoints that you had to pass thru to park at each resort. I think the main reason they checked was to try to prevent people from parking at the resorts and riding the WDW transportation to save the parking fee.

I have been carded many times while pool hopping. Let's see at PO, CR, CS, and many times at the Boardwalk and SAB.

We were resort carded twice at the TTC before going up the monorail ramp. It was in the morning in late January early February. Only time.

Yes, to get on the resort monorail on EE morning. Also one time at the AS to get on the bus one morning. That was before they put up the gates, and a lot of locals and people staying off site used to park there and hop the bus in order to not have to pay to park.

I have never been asked for Resort ID on any Disney Transportation...I have been asked before though while staying at Yacht Club...Myself and Andrew were in Stormalong Bay and I was asked then if I was a Resort Guest and had to show my room key...other than that, no I have never been asked...:)

i've been asked for them on the monorail before.

We just returned Monday. We were asked to show resort ID when getting on the boat from the Marketplace to Port Orleans. One night we drove to the Boardwalk and they asked for picture ID before coming in the parking lot and then we were asked for resort and picture ID when we returned to PO.

If I have a Park Hopper pass, will I be allowed to use all Disney Transportation, including the resort monorails, if I am not staying at a Disney resort? I would like to use one day to visit the resorts and I'm undecided about staying on or off-site.

If I can, when can I use the pass? If I have already purchased my PH and don't enter a park until Monday, can I use the PH to use Disney transportation on the day before, Sunday? Or can I use it on a mid-trip day to travel to resorts without visiting a park?

I don't know if these questions make sense or not. I am a first time WDW visitor and am just not sure how things work...

The first and only time we did EE we had to show resort ID (this was back in 1994, I believe).

We were asked for ID when taking the small boat that goes between MK and the GF and the Poly.

We're often asked for Resort ID when we stay at the YC or BC when we use the pool.

Once while taking a bus from the Dolphin (either to MK or DTD when it was still just the Marketplace :) ) we had to show ID.

I think that's it.

I believe Park Hoppers entitle you to all Disney Transportation!'

You may have trouble getting on the boats/monorails that specifically got to the resorts however... you'll be fine on any bus, though!

We're just back from BC, staying 10/24 - 10/27 and my record is intact......never once were we asked for an resort ID!!!! We did show a photo ID at the gate when checking in but that was it. We used SAB many times and took all forms of transportation within the grounds to parks and other resorts, but we were never asked for proof of any kind.

We stayed at Shades of Green - were not allowed onto the SoG busses without both a Military ID and a room key.

I'm supposed to be staying at SOG in a couple weeks. My B-I-L is in the Reserves, and we are going with them. (Hopefully he won't get activated between now and then, but that is a different story!)

So, I will be a guest there, but I don't have a military ID. If I want to go back to the room during the day, will this be a problem? I plan on carrying at minimum my photo DL, but these days I've been carrying my passport with me everywhere as well...

I asked the bus driver that same question, as we were with my DM, and one day DH and I went to Epcot by ourselves. DM stayed back with the kids and we wondered if she wanted to take them to MK or something while we were gone, would that be OK? The bus driver said that probably her room key would suffice for ID....but they never did go out that day, and I never found out what would happen. I would make sure to discuss it with either the front desk or one of the drivers to find out.

They also recommended that we carried a photo ID at all times. Security there was very tight, as a result of Sept 11, and the PGA tournament that was going on while we were there.
