We booked with free dining at Pop from 9/17/11 - 9/24/11 before it expired in December 2010. Now my parents might be going with us. Has anyone been able to add a room and get that room the same discount???

I tried, and was told no. We are booked under the free dining promo 8/26-9/4 at POR (5 people). I called to try and book another room and add 2(my parents) and was told it can't be done. The CM did tell me if I booked a room that held 7 people, I could still retain the free dining promo. The only rooms for 7 are the villas. It just was not cost feasible.

This week I tried to add 2 people in a 2nd room and I was told no, the pin is expired.

I just added a 5th person to our ressie booked back in September and was able to get free dining for that person. The catch was that we had to change resorts to a room that allowed 5 people. You would have to get a villa.

We booked a PIN code (% off) room only for December at Pop for after our cruise. The pin has expired. We are now thinking that we want to stay at AKL...if there is availability can I transfer my reservation from Pop to AKL?

hi, we wanted to change from pop to pofq and keep free dining and where told we could if there was availabilty, but we couldnt change as nothing left for our dates in pofq or por, so you should have no problem as long as there is availabilty,

We also wanted to add an additional room last year and was told "no," that once the pin has expired no rooms can be added.

There is always a *first* though and it doesn't take much time to call and find out. :goodvibes

I just upgraded today. We were originally booked with a pin code from Jan. It was the 35% Value & Mod, 40% Deluxe pin code. We initially booked a family suite at asm. We had been thinking of upgrading lately, and I had my doubts if we could do it while still keeping the "expired" pin code discount. Called today and the cm gave me several options, but some of the resorts showed no availabilty with the pin code discount. It was slim pickings, but it was still available. We decided to upgrade to the Polynesian and still got the 40% off room only discount.
Note that most of the resorts showed almost any room choice we wanted, but not many to choose from with the pin code discount.
So if your not too picky, it can be done.

Yes, you can upgrade. You can not add another room to your reservation with an expired discount.

Call and if the CM cant help you ask to speak to someone in Guest services. I had the same problem with a room only PIN. The CM told me nothing was available spoke to guest services and she fixed it. Good Luck DS and I are trying POP for the first time in August.

As others have said, changing your resort can be done when a promo or pin code has expired (if there is availability), but you cannot add another room. Adding a room would require a new reservation, which cannot be done since the booking window has expired.

I was told the same thing try calling again...I have called 4 times and got 4 different answers.....3 were yes and 1 was no.....:confused3

Just an FYI.........
Be careful about switching resorts on with a room-only pin code offer. I was able to switch resorts to the one of the FEW resorts that showed availability, and still kept my 40% pin code. BUT you will likely instantly loose the chance to get the resort you already had, if you change your mind.
Such was our case.......... I switched resorts after the family talked about how much we would LOVE to go back to the Polynesian instead of at a value resort which we had reservations for (asm Family suite). Well after talking it over (and switching to the Poly already), we (kids & wife) decided that it would be too hard with only one bathroom, and sleeping may be difficult as one person in our family snoors :rolleyes1 ,to stay at the Poly for 10 days. They wanted to go back to ASM family suite! Well, you can guess whats coming next.............yep, no availability at ASM Faily suites any longer, and no availability for anything with 2 bathrooms or any type of suite. SO.......had to cancel the entire reservation, thus loosing any chance at using that paticular PIN code offer. Lesson learned......just make sure you really want what you switch to.......you will prob not be able to go back!

Anyway it worked out for the best.......the entire family decided that we would be WAY more comfortable (and not too mention, cheaper) staying at a 4bdrm/4 Bth pool home in Windsor hills. Its a home we have stayed at before, and LOVE it. We usually bounce back and fourth from on-site to off-site every year, and it works well for us, as we like to try new things.

Anyway.......just an FYI on changing with pin codes.

It's my experience that you can change resorts after a code has expired (depending on availability), but cannot book another room.

If there are only two people booked in the OP's POP room, OP can add parents to the existing room reservation/package, pay the extra adult fee, and then book a separate room (on a room only basis) that the parents actually will occupy.

If the 3rd and 4th people in the existing POP room are children, then the OP should book the parents as the 3rd and 4th in the existing POP room, taking the children off the reservation.

Then, book a separate room (on a room only basis) for the OP's family, which is the room they actually will occupy. That way, at least the adults can all get the free dining and they can pay for the kids out of pocket. Even with the extra adult fee, getting 4 adults onto free dining is worth more than keeping it 2 adults and 2 kids (assuming the kids are 9 or under or, if over, 10, don't eat a lot).

I very much agree with the PP about being very careful in doing this. I always say straightaway, "Do not change anything yet. I'm just interested in what my options are. Do not touch my current reservation unless I tell you to."
