Has anyone been able to find the updated UG?

I have looked everywhere in my area for an updated 2005 Unofficial Guide. All I can find is the original edition, before MYW came into effect. Of course, no store is going to order the updated version until they sell what they already have in stock. I asked at a Walden Books about having one special ordered, but the clerk said she can only find one ISBN # for TUG, so she couldn't guarantee it would be an updated version. I really don't want to buy a version that's already outdated, but I don't know where to find a new version. Len - or anyone - can you help me out?

I think I saw a post here last week that said it wouldn't be out until August.

They are in one of the two Barnes & Nobles stores I frequent. In the one that had it (Waterbury, CT), the newest version was still in the back -- guess they saw lots of the pre-MYW '05 ones on the shelves, so didn't unload more. But when I asked, a nice salesperson noticed the slight difference and put the newer ones out and took the others away.

The 2005 updated one looks nearly identical to the 2005 not-update one. Just look for the mention of MYW to tell which is the updated one.

It's the 2006 one that will be out in August. I was looking for an updated version of the 2005 but when I found out that the 2006 is due out in August I figured I would wait as we're not going till December.

Before I ordered mine from amazon.com last week I emailed webmaster at tourinplans.com - the site says it is the website for Unofficial guide - told them I was getting ready to order but that the pub date at amazon.com was 2004,how do i get a revised one. Email back said that if I read through the update info on their site (havent looked close but this looked more like typical 2nd edition stuff fixing typo's and clarifications) that their was no reason to get the revised book. Of course in my email to them I stated that I already had picked out tickets and reserved a room. So maybe there is more stuff in there pertaining to that kind of thing. I also questioned the sample touring plans for free on the site that allow you to put in the date and if this info would include the fact that may is going to be buisier than may in past years and was told that all the touring plans are based on fairly high level crowds anyway (not necessarily high like christmas though)

Got mine at Barnes and Noble. Called the stores first to see if they had the updated one. I told them to look for the words "including new MYW ticket information" on the cover. I was put on hold, he came back and said he had two, asked him to put it on hold--NO problem. It's much easier than driving around, and I think it's hard to know for sure if you buy from the internet. If you do buy an un-updated one, it should be no problem for you. You can go to touringplans.com (the UG's website) and all the updates are there, and seem to change pretty often. I felt like it was more of a hassle to look for the updated one when I could just go the the UG's website and get the updates for free. Hope this helps!

My friend picked one up two weeks ago at Books-a-Millioin. I asked her if it was the new one (b/c I recommended the book to her). She said that it was b/c it had info. about the new MYW tickets in it.

I bought mine at B&N, Hilton Head, right at Easter time. Another improvement to it are the supplemental touring guides in the back that includes restaurant info. The ISBN for the regular 2005 and revised 2005 are identical---too bad they didn't make them different; it would make ordering so much easier. No doubt I'll be getting the 2006 version in August....
