Has Anyone Added a Guest After Check In?

My check in is tonight (tomorrow) and 1 DS is still unsure if he can make it. If I check in tonight, get a good PAT and BG, then add him (hopefully) soon, will I lose my PAT and BG? If so, has anyone had experience getting it reinstated? :confused3

Is there a downside to checking him in anyway? Would it affect the price?

He is not yet on the reservation so I cannot check him in. He's not sure if he can come (waiting on military orders) so I dont want to add him to the reservation and end up losing the money if he cant go.

Ahh, understand. I didn't realize that one of your sons (Cam? or Colt?) was in the service. Please extend my thanks to him for his service Katy.

I’ve never found military orders to be helpful in planning a darn thing. I would have thought it would be cheaper to drop him last minute or keep him on the reservation and just lose the money. Or get a partial refund for him because of military obligations. Can you get a room near your current room with the higher number of people that include your son if you went on DCL website? If YES, Then stress less. If getting that room is difficult on the website maybe rethink your approach and put him on reservation.

If he’s training in that heat wave, my heart and good wishes to his comfort and safety. I’ve said a prayer for him but I’m nobody special. And sadly, I probably have a better relationship with Tinker Bell.

Thanks Jeff! Will do. And yes, Colton joined the Navy Reserves right before Covid hit.

Thank you! He just moved from MA to FL so that is adding to the unhelpfulness of the situation. ;) Had he stayed here he would have his dates.

At this point I'm just waiting it out. He knows theres a risk we wont be able to add him but Im not risking losing over $1000. We checked in, got BG 6 which Im a little disappointed in anyway. Our last cruise as Platinum we got 11:15/BG 5. AT 12:06 on our Pearl check in date we got 11:30/6. I had expected Pearl would get us a better group now that they have separated check ins. :confused3 But thats another issue, LOL!

We have had to add DD last minute last summer and even though she had a much later PAT, it did not change the rest of the group's PAT or BG and they allowed her to board with the rest of us at the earlier time. (Guessing because the majority of the guests in the stateroom had the earlier time).

Oh that's good to know. Thanks! I didn't realize people in the same room could have different times.
Maybe he can get a highly reduced military rate for the same cruise? :D
There was one available earlier but too soon for him to have booked. Also, I'm not sure if Reserves are eligible for that. He should probably look into it. ;)

Yes many times, but of course we were platinum, and boarding times were not a thing.

I just added my daughter to our room on a cruise for which I'd already done online check-in. When I then went through the check-in process for her, she was listed with the same Port Arrival Time and Boarding Group as my husband and I had. I wasn't asked to select a PAT for her.

She is taking Disney transportation from Heathrow airport to Southampton, but my understanding is that you do still need a PAT with airport transportation. So, it may be the current policy that all guests in a room have the same PAT. Or maybe I just got lucky.
