Has anyone actually used the prepaid photopass?

Just trying to figure this out, if you prepay online and then pick up your pp card at the park, how many pp cards can you get? There will be 15 of us travelling together and we all want to be able to use the same photo DVD. Is this feasible and if so how would we do it?

I wish I could remember where the list of photo pass stations are. There is a list on one of the Disneyland posts. You just ask who ever is taking the picture if they have any of the special effect photos they can take. Most will let you know but we learned to also ask if the CM does not. Not all areas have the special effects or so I hear-- but who knows. Some CM really get inot taking pictures and actually pose you-- gotta love those CM.

Never feel like you are in their way as most love this job and do great work. A few try to rush you -- so just go back when another CM is working-- don't let it get you down. I know hotels do at the character meals other then that I am not sure. We only had photo pass once before so I am actually new to this also. We will learn together :).

who and how do you ask for these types? sounds so fun!

Do the hotels have photo ops? I am so buying one right now!

From what I have gathered (someone back me up on this) you get one photopass+ card, but every other adult can get a separate (regular) photopass card, and they can all be combined online after the fact... am I right on this?

You get 1 PLUS card. You must have the PLUS card with you in order to get the ride photos and photo packages at the character meals.

You can add regular photopass photos from regular free cards handed out in the parks to your account. I had 3 of these this past week as the photographers were quick to scan a new one vs my plus pass. I did this myself online, though they did tell me it could be done in for me by a CM in the photopass center.

At WDW it has always been worth it for us. We never have to worry about getting the camera out. The photo pass person just does the work. Same with character meals. We alsways did a pp share in the past so it only cost us about $12-17. However, I will pay the $69 for DL easily.

To get "magic" shots, look for photographers who are holding their camera rather than have them on a tripod. Most offer to do them though I did ask once since I had seen the photographer setting up a magic shot for someone else. We have had tinkerbell in my daughter's hands, she has held baby Simba and Stitch popped out of the ground in front of both kids. (Those were all at WDW.)

Ok so if I prebuy the pp dvd they will put photos from character meals and ride photos, as well as the photos taken in the parks, on the one dvd for that price. is this right? Also can anyone tell me how much extra dvd"s are?

I was just reading another pp dvd thread that was started in June and people were saying that character meal photos and ride photos do not go on the dvd. Now I'm very confused. :confused3

You get all your photos onto the PP+ card, so you can later upload them to your photopass account. After you edit all your photos in your account, you can order the photopass CD using the code provided in your PP+ prepaid package. You can only get ride photos and character meal photos using the PP+ card whereas regular/magic photopass shots by the photographers can be saved using either the PP+ card or the regular PP card. Think of the card as a save device for your photopass pics. All your pics on the PP+ card and PP cards can be saved to your photopass account. In addition to the digital pic which can be saved to the PP+ card, you will also get the print package from the character meal. However, if the pics are not saved properly to the cards, you may lose them.

Hope this helps! Have fun planning!!

Technically the PP cards are free. You are paying or prepaying for the photopass CD. However, when you purchase the PP+ package, you are buying the photopass CD plus the ride/meal photopass pics as well. The PP+ card is a special card that can save the ride pics and character meal pics which you are supposed to pay right at the spot and cannot be saved to the regular PP cards without paying for them first. With the special PP+ card package, you have prepaid for the ride/meal pics as well, so you can save them to the PP+ card for uploading to your photopass account and burning the photopass CD.

In other words, they do not put pics to the photopass CD. You do it yourself. They only save the pics to your PP+ card and if this is not done properly, your pics will be lost.

Hope this helps!

Does the voucher expire?

I would love to buy this for our trip in April. But, if for some reason we cannot go to DL in April, would I be able to use the voucher 1, 2 or 3 years from now instead?

Just checked my voucher. There is no expiry date. Get it now to avoid price increase later. You never know when they change their prices.

Pixis dust!

So I could prebuy the pp+ card now for December, is this right? How do I do it? Is it through the normal pp site?

Alright everyone- just read through this whole thread & I'm a bit confused.:confused3 I have never done photopass before so bear with me please...

I would like to buy the PP+ online before going to save money. Where do I do this?? Is there a link?

Once I buy it, they send me a voucher. I take the voucher in where exactly to trade it for the card & lanyard?

Now I have the card & lanyard. I assume I just hand my card to the PP photographer, they scan it (hopefully correctly so I don't loose pics!) and then all my pics are saved to my PP card.

Once I get home with all my pics on my card, then I must transfer them to a CD/DVD? It's at this point that I can add borders & extra features, correct? But I don't have to actually buy anything else, right? Since I've already bought the PP card, I just use a code to get the CD??

Also- tell me how exactly to get the ride pictures on my card? We always buy at least one of the ride pictures. We actually have a wall at home dedicated to Disney ride photo's- it's a great & fun way to have a yearly family photo.:)

Thanks all!!

I have the link guys but I can't post it because I haven't posted ten times gosh! How can I do this?

This is what I found on the Facebook Page. Can anyone tell me what a Ride Stub is? :confused3

My family may split up and go on two different Attractions however only one Disney PhotoPass+ card is provided, what can I do?
R. If your family splits up and goes on different Attractions you may save your Ride Stub with the photo # and later on stop by the Attraction to claim the photo with your Disney PhotoPass+ card. Keep in mind that photos are available in our system for only 48 hours after capture; make sure you visit the Attraction to claim your photo within that time period.

It's like a reciept, though it doesn't show you paid. It has the product information, "photo #", so you can return and they can find your photo.

So when you come off the ride do you ask for the ride stub so you can come back later to put the photo on the pp+?
