Has anyone actually completed a Dollar rental using ENTERTAIN?

I've had quite a few people ask me why I don't list the ENTERTAIN code on MouseSavers. The answer is that I don't know what the source of the code is, or whether it is supposed to be limited to a particular group/association etc. Also, I am not aware of anyone who has actually used the code, completed the rental without problems, and reported back. Admittedly I don't get a chance to check this board as often as I'd like, but I haven't seen any posts indicating that the code was used trouble-free.

I have seen MANY posts here suggesting that people should use this code and stating that it's available to anyone and doesn't require a coupon. Do we actually know this is true? I'm a little worried that those who have booked with it might have problems when they pick up or drop off the car. That's why I'm not currently listing it on MouseSavers.

Has anyone here actually returned from a trip after using this code and reported no problems with it? Please don't post if you've just "heard of" someone who used it, or if you've booked it but not actually completed your rental yet -- I need a report from an actual renter who has used ENTERTAIN successfully. Thanks so much!

one of the vacation guides in florida i think...

why not do a search on the word ENTERTAIN on the boards, that should bring up the threads where people have explained where it came from....


niagara2 used it when she went at the first of the month and she said she did not have any trouble...

lawgs, I did run a search. There are hundreds of posts in which ENTERTAIN has been mentioned. I read quite a few of them and 99% of them were posts suggesting that others should use the code!

I didn't find any explanation of the origins of ENTERTAIN. There are a number of codes that do come from vacation guides (MCC and FVG, for instance) but I haven't seen any posts about the source of ENTERTAIN, except for speculation about where it *might* have come from.

I just looked up the the post you mentioned from Niagara2 and it looks like she picked up her car successfully. I didn't see a final report after she returned the car.

Am I being overcautious? Yes. I don't feel comfortable recommending a code until I feel confident that my readers aren't going to have problems.

We successfully rented a car with the Entertain code. We were never asked for a coupon or to show proof that we were qualified to use the code. Actually, the man at the counter said that we must have had "connections" to have gotten such a low rate. We had originally booked an economy car (Dodge Neon) for $99/week (July 3-9), but we ended up with a Brand New PT Cruiser for $85/week. This was due to a free upgrade and an additional 15% discount that we received (we had to return the Neon because it had expired tags). We were extremely pleased with Dollar's customer service and feel the rental was a steal considering it was over July 4th.

MouseSavers is always the first place I look for codes! Thanks!

When making a ressie for a Dollar rental over the internet I have often used codes listed here to get great deals and this Nov. we have one under the ENTERTAIN code. The confirmation e-mail and printable notice on the web site are legal documents. If there are no 'fine print' clauses mentioning special coupons, affiliations etc. required for the reservation, none can be required at pick-up time. I've never been called on this issue, but I take the confirmations with me just in case.

I visited your site and picked up the codes for Dollar rentals for Fla. One was a code for a minivan @ $41.99/day. Well, when I went to dollar.com, where the same special is advertised, I tried to book it. After I enter my info and press "Submit" (so I can get my quote. it comes up with the price $61.99 for the 1st day and $69.99 for the 2nd day!! (we will be needing a car for 2 days only) Can you help me out????

I just tried codes fish, mcc, fvg, and fltvl for July 26-28 from 10:00 AM-10:00 AM, and the price came to $39.99/day for a minivan. Hope that helps.

Yes, it was through Dollar. The codes were from MouseSavers and The DIS.

You said you tried to book "where the same special is advertised".
I just tried their Express Rates area (in blue). Just type in one of those codes in the box that says promo code.

I booked a full sized car with Dollar for this coming February using ENTERTAIN and saved about a $100 off any of the other codes.

Yes - we used ENTERTAIN successfully with our last Dollar rental at the end of June. as stated above. No one asked us for any coupon at pick up or drop off. We just booked two more for August with this code. Dollar was great....good service...nice Dodge Intrepip with only 800 miles in it...easy to get and drop off. Good Luck to all who use this code!
