Has anybody stayed at the Rosen Plaza

I have a conference I have to attend for work and it's at the Rosen Plaza Hotel on International Drive. Being the Disney obsessed person that I am, I want to visit the parks in the evenings. My boss told me that I don't have to stay at the Rosen if I don't want to; so needless to say, I'm thinking I should stay on Disney property and drive to the conference every morning. My problem is, I get lost really easily, especially at night. So do I stay on property and drive to the conference in the morning and take the bus in the evening to the parks or do I stay at the Rosen and drive to the parks at night. Does anybody know how hard it is to drive from these two places in the morning, is rush hour traffic really bad ? How far of a drive is it ? When would you rather drive this area, in the morning around 7am or in the evening after parks close ? Any help would be really appreciated

I have not stayed at the Rosen Plaza, but have stayed in that area. International Drive around the Convention Center can be very congested traffic-wise at most times - but at 7:00 a.m. it would be OK, but you would have more traffic when you leave to go back to Disney. There are several options for getting from the Convention Center area to Disney - in normal traffic conditions it should take about 15 - 20 minutes to get between the Downtown Disney area and the Convention Center + whatever additional time to get to the Disney Park you are going to that night. Driving in traffic or at night does not bother me - I'm sure somebody can give you suggestions on the best routes depending on the time of the day. Since you do not like to drive at night, I would say its best for you to stay at Disney and drive to and from the Rosen Plaza during daylight hours to avoid nightime driving.

I've stayed at the Rosen Centre, the Rosen Shingle Creek but never the Rosen Plaza, all three are in the same general area, the Rosen Centre and plaza are almost next door to each other.I can't tell you what would be better for you,I know the area very well and don't think it's a difficult or hard drive at all.I would avoid going north on International Drive as that's where I-Drive gets congested, around the convention center it's not all that bad.You could either get on the 528 to go west towards Disney on I-4,or you could just go south on International Drive pass Sea World and then when that section of I-Drive ends turn left on 536 which will take you past the Nick Hotel and directly to Disney. Those two are pretty simple straight don't get lost routes.
