Still debating the sinus operation though, scary. I have been taking Claritin daily for a few days now, and it does seem to help a little. Did you know you can't go swimming for 6 weeks after the surgery! That took care of the entire summer, plus our vacation, so maybe, maybe, we'll see how the claritin works, and if not, the begining of the new year.
Finally we had a CT done of Ds's sinuses and lo! He not only had a deviated septum, the septum was collapsed and the turbinates were huge. One nostril was swollen completely shut. He's autistic and nonverbal, so we had no idea he was having that much trouble.

I remember the contrast part was a pain (literally). THey did an IV with something in it to show the contrast part and it burned going in. THe whole thing took like 45 minutes or more I think.

I had sinus x-rays and CT scans with and without contrast. Found out I am allergic to contrast. It took about 45 minutes, wasnt bad at all and it showed chronic sinusitis with polyps. I had sinus surgery shortly after.JESW said:If so, how was it??
I keep having re-occuring sinus infections so my dr. is sending me in to get it checked. If you had the CT scan done, did it show anything? How long does it take?
TIA!
