has any one woke up tinkerbell

my DD 7 got to do this on our trip last month. We had gotten to MK at EE (8) and went immediately to Fantasyland the goal being Dumbo. Then I remembered this. My DH thought I was nuts dragging them into a gift shop before we rode anything. We didn't rush, I only remember it as we passed the gift shop. Got some really cute pictures and a certificate that they sent to our hotel for us so it wouldn't get messed up.

Ok, so where *exactly* outside of the castle is this store? I know I was in it yesterday but I couldn't tell you where it was. :)

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what are you guys talking about? Waking up tinker bell? I know she flies from the castle at the beginning of the fireworks... Is that what you're talking about?

LOL!! I was in the same boat with you when I first started to read this. I was like what in the heck are they talking about. Thanks for the info everyone I had no idea about this and I LOOOOOOOVE Tink!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

The store is on your left as you walk out the back of the castle towards Fantasyland.

...As her mom was trying to comfort her my dd went and asked the CM if they both could do it. I was really proud of my dd. She needed no prompting. They both were able to and they both were given certificates.

Your Dis name is spot on, Mom! Your DD is an angel - if only we all had such big hearts!

We got to do it!

DD was SO excited!

I got some video of it but just got the initial flash out of the box as Tink flew around the room. Guess my digicam video recorder isn't good enough to keep up with Tink! ;)

:tinker: What time does the park open an the day you have reservations? If its nine, your reservations are probably not earlier enough, some people get reservations well before the park opens so they can be the first at the shop after the 'rope drop'. Hope you do get the chance to wake up Tink though. :tinker:

My dd is a huge Tink fan and was thrilled to be able to wake her up on our December 2004 trip. There was no 'rush' of people getting to the store the morning we went so I guess that we were pretty lucky.

Here is a picture of her waking up Tink. :tinker:

Enjoy!

Great pic!

I just have some video of the event but I'll try and get a frame grab off of it.

My DD got to do this when she was 4 or 5 - in 2003 or 2004, I think. We had no idea they did it, we just happened to be in the store first thing because Tinkerbell was her absolute favorite character. This was such an incredible thing for Katie - one of our most magical moments. I am glad I didn't know about and try to get there, as part of its magic was that it was a surprise.

She has grown up a bit and is now into Kim Possible...sign. But I will tell you that we still must go in this store and watch Tink "fly around" and peek in the keyhole.
