Has ADR charge policy changed?

When I hit my 180 day Mark I scheduled most of our meals to include my sister and brother in law but they are no longer going to join us at WDW, dropping our party from 7 to 5 (one is an infant) for several meals. Do I need to search for all new ADRs? Will I be charged $20 ($10 per person who didn't show) or will we be OK to go with just five of us if I can't get new ADRs for five?

I would try to handle this by speaking to someone over the phone. Reservations can be made on line or by phone. The phone number is on the website. I would call and get it handled that way. They are very helpful and can answer your questions on how to handle it. Someone else may post a better suggestion, but that's what I would do. I had to make a couple of calls last year to change some things.

You will not be charged a no-show fee as long as at least one person shows up. But, if you have any pre-paid meals or packages, you'll need to get those adjusted.

We've had it happen where we went from 6 to 4 with no problem. I agree with calling if pre-paid. We had no problems with this either, they just refunded the difference for the 2 that couldn't attend

As long as someone shows up, you are good! You can try to get a table for 5 but sometimes the restaurant will be booked so you are better off leaving the ADR as it is. It is better to show up with less people than more. If you have any pre-paid meals, then you'll need to call to get them fixed.

You can call the dining line for WDW:
(407) WDW-DINE

I would call and get the reservations adjusted, as some people could be looking for reservations to those restaurants and your two extra seats may open a time for someone else to book.
I just made a bunch of adjustments to my ADR's from 9 ppl to 4 ppl as our dining party changed for some reservations. It wasnt any issue, the rep on the phone just changed the number of people on the reservation, no problem.

I didn't think they could make adjustments like that. But Id have to get completely new reservations. None of our meals are prepaid. But I do need to call anyway since some of my ADRs aren't showing up in MDE and I can't get them linked

They didnt have any problems when I asked, I just told them that some of the people that we originally planned to be there wont be able to make it and I needed to change the number of people from 9 to 4. The rep said no problem.
None of my confirmation or reservation numbers changed and nothing changed in my MDE except for the number of people on the reservation

Hope it helps

In the past I had issues making adr for 2 or 3 so I would look for 4 and would get them nevee charged for not having the full amount of people

The rule says you are charged $10 per person for "no-show" ADR's.
. . . penalty applies when none of the party appears for the ADR
. . . penalty does not apply as long as some guests in party appear
