Does anyone know when the next Harry Potter movie will be comming out??

Not sure how accurate this info is...it came from DS10 (huge fan) he thinks it is sometime in June, but not sure of date.

We are SO excited that it's being released on IMAX at the same time as the regular release. That is going to be so cool!

Did somebody mention Harry Potter? :p

Yes, yes, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be released on June 4th and my daughter and I will be there at the midnight showing!

I've even heard rumors that Ms. Rowlings is nearly done with her first draft of her sixth HP book and that it may be released this year. I'm crossin' my fingers!

Oh gosh. That's great. It would be wonderful to get it by the end of the year.

Oh my, the kids look so old! I was watching the first one the other day and they look so much younger then. How they've grown up!

I, too, can't wait for the next movie and the next book.

I just read that they are already working on the fourth movie and are planning a late 2005 release for that!

Have I ever mentioned that I just LOVE Harry Potter...isn't that a shame? A 30-something woman who loves a child's book that much. But I do love it...I love the books, the movies, the sound tracks, and every single useless piece of merchandise that Warner Brothers has released to go with the movies. What I love the most is that my daughter learned to love to read on these books. THAT is real magic, because prior to her reading those books, she hated to read...now she reads all the time. :hyper:

WOW! A wonderful way to celebrate our first day of
summer vacation!!!! Thanks for the thread!
Can't wait!

No, it's not. Children's Literature always gets demeaned as "Kiddie Lit" but it is an art that thrives on paring down and getting straight to the heart of the matter. It also brings with it a lack of cynicism and a sense of wonder at the magic in the world. Who doesn't need that in our world?

However, the series is no longer strictly defined as children's literature, with the maturing of the characters and plots.

Can you tell I've taken the last 9 hours of my post-graduate studies in Children's Lit.?:teeth:

I can unashamedly say that my favorites authors (period) are Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, and Lewis Carroll. OK, end of lecture!;)

DS, DD, and I are counting down the days to Azkaban! I'm not holding my breath of the sixth book this year, though. . .

Oooh, I hadn't heard that JKR might have her 6th book out this year. That would be great. As much as I love the movies, I love the books even more.

I just reread Book 5 again last month, because I was desparate for a HP fix and its the only one I haven't read twice. And again I didn't get choked up over Sirius' death. I wonder why that is? I never felt a particular attachment to him. Now Lupin, on the other hand, I would have been devastated if he were killed off.

The scene that gets me emotional in Book 5 is the scene at St. Mungo's with Neville's parents. That just strikes me as so sad. Can't wait to see great wizarding things from Neville in Books 6 and 7. :)

I also think that Neville will play a larger part as the books continue. He has already made some strategic moves, that have helped Harry. And the fact that the prophesy could have pertained to him. I can't wait either, but when the last one is done. i will be soo sad.

Dh and I LOVE Harry Potter! DH's b-day in June 5th, so guess what we are doing on his b-day! LOL! What is really funny is that dh has the same first and middle name as HP! :hyper:

I'm 30-ish :p and LOVE LOVE LOVE Harry Potter. Actually my family loves the series as well. We were at the local Barnes & Noble OotP book release party. My poor ds-8 kept telling me he was tired and wanted to go home to sleep. NOOOOO! Not until I get my copy. :teeth:

Can anyone confirm if this rumor is true? I heard that this is the last HP movie that will have the 3 kids that play Harry, Ron and Hermione. I heard that due to the fact that they are getting older that they will be using new actors in the following movies. :( Personally, I think that would ruin everything and I hope that it's not true. Does anyone know for sure?

Bizybea, I've heard the same thing. My DD does some acting, so we get information on casting and such. They have already begun casting for Goblets, but that may be the last film with these kids. They can't make the films as fast as the kids grow. Sad!

I don't understand the big deal about the actors aging. I think people forget that the characters themselves are aging in each book and of course are going to look older for each movie.

There are 30 something actors that play high school kids- these kids are only 1 or 2 years older than the characters they portray.

They signed contracts only for the first 3 movies. Sounded like they were going to wait and see with anymore. I did hear Daniel Radcliffe say he wanted to do #4 on a tv interview once. And I heard that #3 won't be done filming before they start #4. I really hope they keep the original actors as long as possible, it just won't be the same!
