Harry Potter Questions

My DD (7) is just at 48 inches tall, maybe a little under and I was very surprised that not once during our week long trip did they measure her. I was expecting it at both the Mummy, which she could nto wait to ride, and FJ and neither placed batted an eye when we went in. Now, she did have on some thick sandals that she loved but that might have only given her a half inch.

I have an IPhone and it never picked up any networks while we were in the parks, only the ones at the hotel for wifi connections.

I'm posting right now from in front of the Hogsmead Tavern on my iPhone over the 3G network. Works great and I have five bars for me voice signal.

Many others have posted here from all around both parks in real time. Anywhere you can get a phone signal you can get Internet.

Sorry I meant a wifi signal...yes I got full 3G signal when at the parks. I thought the question was for those with an ipod touch that did not have the ability to use the 3G network :)

You almost need to early entry mornings to do it all before the mass crowds get there! It was amazing!!!!

I'll be visiting WWoHP in early August and I have a few questions.
Did anyone spot any Dobby the house elf merchandise?

I am pretty sure I saw a tshirt w/ him on it. I think it was in Filch's (store you exit FJ into).

Do they open the gates for the general public at 9am exactly or have they been letting people in any earlier than that?

Earlier. Be at the turnstiles by 7am. When they open the turnstiles, head left toward Toon & JP...not to the right toward Suess with the onsiters & their keys (that they have to show a couple of times). IF a TM tries to stop you and make you go right, tell him/her you are NOT an onsite person w/ a key, and you know you are going to JP to wait for WWoHP opening to the GP.

They are letting people into the park early but you have to show a room key to get into WWOHP before 9am. They do let you queue up to be the first regular park visitors in so being early does have an advantage in that respect. You will still have pretty long lines in front of you but obviously not as bad as if you waited until 10 or 11 to show up.

To us the Ollivanders wait was a waste of time. Our guests, who are big HP fns thought it was ok but short considering the 45-minute wait. I thought it was total crap.
The castle, on the other hand, is well worth waiting in line for even if you can save time by using the single riders line. The amazing details make it worth your time even if you've never read or seen anything to do with HP.

^ right on the $$ :thumbsup2

I'm not a Potterhead, and I wouldn't be too thrilled w/ wasting 45 min of my life waiting to see Ollivanders show. First stop and a 5, even 10, minute wait is okay for it.

I also agree about the detailing...just marvelous. And, a TM told me, something in every window moves. Maybe not continously, but there is movement. And I didn't realize the clock (Owlery) goes off every 15 minutes (i think...if not, half hour). Why I didn't realize it was because when it does, it sorta sounds like the train blowin steam :confused3

Definitely saw a Doby pin in Filchs as u exit the Forbidden Journey ride. We and other onsite guests were let in at 7:30 and had problem riding with no wait time. Offsite guests were admitted at 8:30 and the line grows as each hour passes-by 10:30 it was just past Dudley's Ripsaw Falls on Wednesday. Get there early or be prepared to stand ten deep in the sun for hoursss. Many parents held the spot on the line while there children went in the splash zone of Jurassic park to cool off.

Mop, did your daughter get on - we will have the same problem next month. My son is about half an inch (in his runners, I'm Irish too!) under the 48"? Guess only time will tell.
