Well--got my Universal Park to Park tickets from AAA--turns out they aren't "tickets" at all but just a coded printout on a piece of paper.

Anyway--to take that train from one Potter to the other, do I need to show those "tickets" each time?? Exactly how does that work???

To take the Hogwarts express, whether coming from IoA or Universal, you'll scan your ticket.

Before you get to the train you'll see team members at an entrance and they'll scan your ticket to verify its park to park.

We've only ever booked our US trips via AAA. What we have gotten from AAA is a packet of papers. On your 'ticket' paper it will specifically say what type of tickets you purchased (park to park or not). We bring that to the concierge at the hotel and they have a machine that reads a barcode and then prints all of our various tickets, freebies, etc. Then we had to go to a different machine to print the EP tickets because they (used to at least) include your picture.

Suppose you aren't staying at a hotel--what then?? And the "paper" we got from AAA says those ARE our tickets(?)

Get to the park early and before the main entrance, off to the side they have the self serve kiosks. Go there and either scan your papers or type in the confirmation code. It'll then print you out your park tickets that you can put in a wallet or lanyard. This is what they'll scan at the train platform

Yes, they sell print at home tickets that are your tickets. You can go to guest services and they will give you a card sized ticket if you would like. Otherwise just fold up the pieces of paper and use those just the same way you would with normal tickets.

Odd tho that AAA would not have card size tickets--and again, what they gave me has our name on each paper and says they ARE actual tickets. They have several bar codes on them which I assume will be scanned...

So I'm just going to use those and raise a fuss if they aren't accepted!!

Just a note, if you keep the paper tickets and don't change to a card, make sure you bring something like a ziploc baggie to put the paper tickets in, because if it rains or you get wet on a ride, they could turn to mush.
