Harry Potter question??

We will be going to Islands of Adventure on Mon Aug 23rd and I was curious if anyone could advise us on the best way to minimize our wait at Harry Potter. What time in the morning should we get to Islands of Adventure? If we are there an hour or longer before park opening what would our wait be like? What should we do first when at the Harry Potter attraction? Thanks for the help!!!!

Don't go into WW in the AM! If you really want to do park stuff, go anywhere else in IOA. My best advice (having been there both at opening and at evening) is just go around 6 or so. You'll still have lots of time to do everything.

i totally disagree to the comment above. It was so much worse in the night that i was in the morning. the wait for fj was 75 mins at 9 at night compared to about 45 around 10.

I would still stick this the evening! 75 minutes still beats 90 minutes to get in plus 60 minutes for the ride (and a bit cooler in the evening).

That was our experience.

Where are you staying?

If you are onsite, take advantage of the extra 1 hour early opening for onsite guests to WWOHP and get there early. We were in line by 7 am, and let into the park at 7:30, walked (quickly!!!) right to FJ and was done riding it before 8 am.

If you are offsite, it has been running 50/50 as to getting in early vs. later in the day.

Get in as early as posible and head straight there, if your staying on-site use the hour ahead of other guests to do the Harry Potter section cause thats were everyone will be headed from about 9-11am onwards till about 5-6pm anywhere outside of these times would be the best time to go for short(er) queues.

We were there early Sat and were first in line for offsite guests. We were let into WWoHP at 8:37 and walking off FJ after riding at 9:10. We left IoA at 1 when it was growing even more crowded and much hotter.
