Harry Potter! Harry Potter ! Harry Potter!

...just got back. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!!!
I liked the first, but I thought that this one was much better!

I'm so glad to read these great reviews. We were planning to wait too but now I'm so sure. :)

I just got back too... went to the latest showing there was. It was crowded, but since it was the last show of the night it wasn't completely sold out. The one starting 20 minutes earlier was even more crowded since they were showing that there were few tickets left.

Don't want to talk about anything specific to risk a spoiler, so I'll just add my comments that yes, it definitely is a very well-done movie! Loved it!

Kejoda et al...hate to be the bearer of bad tidings
but I heard the next film doesn't get released until
2004. New director too. It starts filming sometime
early next year. They better move faster than that
or the kids playing the characters will get too old!

We saw it last night...I have to agree that the action sequences were great, especially the Quidditch match...far superior to the first movie. The young actors all seemed more comfortable in their roles, particularly the girl who plays Hermoine.

Overall, though, I prefer the first movie for its more magical quality. To me, Chamber of Secrets didn't come close to having the same heart as Sorceror's Stone.

OOOH I can't wait! I'm so excited. We're going this morning to see it.

One word of advice, as I discovered yesterday, after cleaning the movie...... Stay to the VERY end of the credits and you'll be in for a treat! :o)

Whew! I have chills just thinking about how much I loved this movie! Moaning Myrtle was a bit different than I imagined her, but I thought she was great.

I agree-stay through the loooong credits. Not too many people did, but one guy in the front cracked me up when the got to the part in the credits about any resemblance is purely coincidental, it's fiction, etc....He yelled"No, They're real!!!":teeth:

I wish I would have read this yesterday because we didn't stay for the credits, DD#1 had to go to the bathroom:( .
I really liked it. Of course I am very biased because Kenneth Branagh (Lockhart) is my favorite actor in the whole wide world. Maggie Smith is one of my favorites also so it was a real treat for me to see them both in one film.
I agree that the kids are growing up fast--Malfoy looks a few inches taller than Harry! The new one starts filming in March. And Richard Harris was so awesome in this one! It was depressing to realize he is gone. I think if Rowling has finished book 5, she better get cracking on books 6 and 7 before these kids are in college.
Here's an Idea for Snoopy--go see this one now, and go see Treasure Planet at Thanksgiving--it opens Nov. 27!

I'm glad to read these reviews. We almost went to see it last night, but I'm trying to hold out for a couple of weeks.

Oh yeah, definitely stay for the credits. We were the only ones left in the theater, but it was worth it! :teeth:

We missed the end of the credits :(

Will someone please PM me and tell me what we missed? Thanks.

We didn't stay until the end of the credits, either. Can someone PM me also?

The movie was great! I wish they had shown more Quidditch, though. It is always so much fun to watch.

And I think Lucius Malfoy was luscious also, shortbun. I'm a sucker for a good looking bad guy!

I always stay for the credits, but last night I wanted to get jump on the crowd so I left right at the end.

Someone please tell me what I missed.

It looks like next Saturday will be a big movie day for us; Treasure Planet in the morning, Harry Potter in the afternoon.:jester:

Fantastic!! DH & I saw it last night and we're listening to the audio of it again now. We loved it. We were surprised that it seemed so short. We were not ready to leave Hogwarts either. We'll see it again in a few days.
Lucius Malfoy was so good at being so bad. Gilderoy Lockhart was so good at being so - - vain!
We didn't stay for the credits either. It was almost 11:30 and we were ready for b'fast! ;)

Ready to go back to Hogwarts ~
Poohstyx

We didn't stay for the credits either. If someone has the chance could you pm me.

Maybe you could just post what happened in the credits with a spoiler tag? I missed it too.

I thought the movie was great and the specials effects were so good I often didn't even think of them AS special effects (like the quidditch match). My only complaint (and a really minor one at that) was that the movie seemed to jump from scene to scene -- it was so action-packed that there was no time for things like character development.

Still, great movie, tons of action, lots of humor, wonderful acting and a great story.

Loved the movie!! It was awesome! (And we managed to buy tickets online for a 7:05 show last night only an hour before, which was great. :) ) But we didn't stay until the end of the credits...I guess we will have to go back! ;)

We didn't stay to the end of the credits either. (We were on the end of the row... we may have gotten trampled with everyone trying to leave ;) ). Now I'm really curious!

Well we broke down and saw it last night instead of waiting for Thansgiving. We all loved it, including my 7-year old and 4-year old boys. My 7-year old told me after the movie it was the best day of his life, LOL.

Yum to Lucius Malfoy! What a creep though. We loved the Weasley family, wish we could see more of them. The kid who plays Ron Weasley is such a hoot, we are big Ron fans in this family.

We loved the first movie so much, but we all agreed the second was even better. Big thumbs up!

(and we missed the credits also. Please do tell!)

Our family didn't like the second movie nearly as much as the first. We found that dialogue somewhat forced as they tried to explain the storyline too much and that the mood was definately not captured. I found the plot rather jumpy and the chamber of secrets part was not as scary as it should have been. The cinematography, however, was excellent. I honestly feel that they should stop making the movies as they don't do the books justice. (as you can tell, I absolutely LOVED the books and don't think that anyone could make a movie that could possibly portray their genius)
