Harry Potter at Midnight

^That was one of the most discussed and debated issues before the 7th book came out. That and whether or not Harry was a horcrux

What did you think the weirdest part of the movie was? I thought it was odd that Dumbledore's wand was back on his desk at the end of the movie. Anyone else?? popcorn::

Agreed. The only excuse I can think of for doing this is because they didn't have a funeral we need to be able to know that the wand is somewhere so voldemort can steal it in the next movie It's a longshot and it doesn't make much sense in my mind but that's the only reason I can think of for them doing this.

The funeral is supposed to be at the beginning of the first 7th movie. But I agree that they need a set-up for Voldie to get the wand... the Elder Wand... Dumbledore's wand... Which becomes Draco's wand... which becomes Harry's wand... Sorry, but I tend to ramble!! :goodvibes

I still missed the funeral... wanted to pay respects to Dumbledore after he died, not lots later... But hay, that's just me. :3dglasses

i saw it last night, and i really really liked it, actually.

yes, they left a whole lot out, but they got the general point across. and they had to change some things (battle at burrow instead of hogwarts) but really, i didn't mind too much.

i thought this was a very funny movie, and probably the best one yet.

Yes...that is my biggest complaint for the entire movie...
they did it becasue the director knew there would be a HUGE battle at hogwarts in the 7/8 movie, and he didn't want it to be like, "oh battle at hogwarts, oh battle at hogwarts", so he added the battle at the burrow, which kindof summarized what should have happened at hogwarts.

this is my last post, but i don't think anyone said this

the next movie opens with dumbledore's funeral. becuase the 6th book ends with dumbledores funeral, and the seventh opens right after, they decided to push the funeral to the 7th so they would still have all that energy from dumbledore's death in the air when the stuff from 7 starts happening.

I'm glad his funeral isn't gone completely.

Also, Snape and Dumbledore were talking right before Harry/Dumbledore went to get the locket. I haven't read the book in a while (or DH for that matter) but what were they arguing about? Whether Snape should kill him or not? Snape didn't want to do whatever Dumbledore was asking him to do, that was obvious.

And lol, I just used the sentence 'all is well' trying to describe the ending of HP to my dad, without realizing that it was actually the last line in the book. It just popped out, so obviously, I think she picked a pretty good line to wrap things up. I hope they incorporate that somehow into the 8th movie.

Also, does anyone know exactly what will be in the 7th movie, and what will be in the 8th? Like a certain number of pages to each movie?

Dumbledore/Snape answer:
---> We learn of this argument in the 7th book in the memories Snape gives Harry as he dies. Dumbledore set it up for Snape to kill him and because he hasn't told Snape what his lessons with Harry were about Snape feels that because he isn't being fully honest that he doesn't think he wants to kill him anymore. Dumbledore reminds him that he made a vow (but not unbreakable as we know of...) to kill him and in the book promises that he will tell Snape everything. Don't know how he did though considering he died right after

We don't have any idea where the split will be. The only info we have is that the director said that it would be a semi-cliff hanger. We can only guess what that is supposed to mean...

Okay, that's what I figured. I just haven't read DH for a year and a half (I plan to re-read it) so I was a little fuzzy on the details. It's so great that they added that in there, and kind of re-affirms my theory that it was really a set-up movie.

I need to reread DH...

But do we really need to keep discussing in white?! I am getting hand cramps :p

Maybe just put a disclosure in the title that says spoilers...though they are books........

Lol, have you noticed I don't bother with the white? If people are clicking on this thread, they obviously don't care about getting spoiled from the movie.

Besides, it's not like we all haven't read the books. We KNOW what happens, this is just the movie adaptation.

I just saw it.
it was amazing, i thought.
i cried a lot, though. like, 4 times. i felt like such a baby. xD
but it was amazing.
