SPOILER ALERT:
Where do you think they will split the Deathly Hallows movies? And why?
After reading several interviews with David Heyman and David Yates, I think it will be right after Voldemort retrieves the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave.
One of the "Davids" said it was going to be after the trio is captured by the snatchers. Also he said that prior HP movies ended with a death or bereavement and DH will end with a cliff-hanger instead. So that leaves out the option of splitting right after Dobby's death. And I think David Yates said in a recent interview that the second part of DH will be "an opera" with "dragons" and other stuff. So that means the escape from Gringotts on the back of the dragon would be in part 2.
When reading DH, one of the most bone-chilling parts to me was when Voldemort took the Elder Wand. I remember thinking, "NOW what is Harry going to do???" This scene is after the trio escape from Malfoy Manor so it would fit in with the first comment that the split would be after the trio is captured.
So it could end with Voldemort getting the wand and feeling victorious. That would be a great cliff-hanger. Anyone who didn't know the ending would think that evil MIGHT just triumph.
