Harry Potter and PoA Picture

Why would they need new kids? In the books, they get old a year older - they are going through school afterall. You couldn't have Harry celebrating his 15th/16th/17th birthday and have him (and his friends) still look like he was 12

Penny, did you hear somewhere that they would be using new kids?

I guess if they replaced the current actors it would be because the movies come out less frequently than once a year, so the actors are aging faster than the characters. But still, if Sarah Michelle Gellar and actresses like her can play teens when they are in their 20's, I see no reason why these kids cannot continue to play their roles. Thats what makeup is for!

Hollywood or should we say British Movie Magic will keep them looking young enough.

They wouldn't be able to pull off a cast change and have the movie survive.

Sorry Snoops, no. I was just responding to Tinks comment that Hermoine was looking grown up and that any new movies would need new children to play them.

I agree with you, there's no reason why they can't keep the same cast, even if they don't bring out one film a year - I'd just hate to see someone else playing one of the main characters - it would definately lose a lot of appeal for me!

The actors for Harry, Ron and Hermione's characters are only signed in a contract for 3 movies....which means after POA - any of them could be replaced!

I would hate to see any of them replaced as well...that's why I had the ....If they could only put out a movie a year....of course, if J.K. could only put out a book a year....*sigh*...

Wow, the three main actors for Harry Potter are just getting more adorable every movie as they get a little older. Gambon appears to be a perfect cast for Dumbledore since Richard Harris' death. I do not think that i have seen anything with Gary Oldman, but look forward to seeing him as Sirius. As i am typing the word Sirius, i remember reading somewhere that it is (possibly) the name of a "dog star"...hence the reason why Sirius transforms into a dog.

Sorry I can't provide a link as I can't remember where I saw it, but I read a few days ago that the kids have agreed to do the Goblet of Fire movie as well. If I come across the article again I will post a link.
