Oh how I miss the WWOHP! Everyone here was such a great help when I was planning my trip that I thought I'd put this idea/question out there too:

I am planning my best friend's wedding shower! (We visited WWOHP together last November) and she would like the theme to be HP at the beach! We laughed for hours at all the different interpretations we came up with of wizard wear/behavior on the beach!

So, any ideas for her wedding shower? (costumes, food, decorations, games?) Thanks in advance for all your help!
:wizard:

Where to start?

First off...Awesome theme...I think that would be loads of fun. Running ideas through DH who actually found this thread first here is what we came up with...

* As people come to the shower, they must first be sorted into their "house" before they can mingle with the others.

* Once sorted, games should be played against the houses, and the winning house will win something really good, (I have no clue what the budget is so I won't start naming ideas for prizes just yet).

* Costumes
- Bathing suites with house colors
- Cloaks with house crests
- If this is a co-ed shower the guys can wear swim trunks with a neck tie.

* Food
- Mimosa's served with pumpkin juice instead of orange juice
- Rootbeer floats to serve as a substitute for butterbeer
- Pasties, pudding, cake...(off the top of my head at the moment I can't think of food from HP...)

* Games
- Find the snitch - Send guests on a scavenger hunt to find the golden snitch.
- Guess the number of Bertie Botts every flavor beans (Place a few bags in a jar and see who can guess correctly or as close to as possible) or lemon sherberts, or any other candy associated with WWOHP
- Match game - Guess the couples (Ginny and Harry, Ron and Hermione, etc.)

These are just a few ideas that flew into my head when I read your post...if any more come to me, I'll chime in...Hope these help get the creative juices flowing.

Congratulations to your BF by the way :goodvibes

I can't offer any tips but it sure sounds like it's gonna be a fun happening. :laughing:

Check out etsy.com It is a website for home crafters to sell their "art". There are some cool HP party things offered there...printed butter beer labels, etc.
