Harmony Barbershop Questions?

Has anyone ever had their haircut at Harmony Barbershop? Do they really sing to every guest getting a cut? How long does it take? Do you recommend it and should I make a reservation? I am getting both my girls (8 & 5) a trim.

2. No. (The quartet only appears briefly one or two times a day.)

Yes our kids have. An appt. might be better but they do take walkins.

I have never seen anyone singing in there in the three times we have taken DS for a cut, but we did have a Photopass photographer in there once! It doesn't take long for the actual cut, depending on what you are having done, I guess. Maybe 20 minutes for all of my son's cuts. We have always made an appointment, and that seems to be the best way to do it since there are only 3 chairs available. They do take walk-ins though.

The Dapper Dans, MK's on Main Street U.S.A. barbershop quartet, stops by the shop for a song or two, but the actual barbers who cut hair in the shop are not "singing barbers."

We love the barbershop. DD got her first haircut there. The next trip DD and DH got their haircut at the same time. It is a fun experience. It doesn't take too long maybe 20 min. or so but you may have to wait a bit even if you have an appointment so I would plan for an hour or so. I think the barber shop quartet appears around noon usually or they did during DD's first haircut about 3 years ago. You make an appointment by calling Disney Dining. I would recommend you get one, you never know how crowded it is going to be. It does minimize the wait.

1. My littlest one had a haircut there during our visit in March
2. There is no singing in the barbershop- it's tiny. It was actually very quiet when we were there. We were however, lucky enough to catch a Dapper Dans performance right outside in front of the firehouse.
3. We made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance. We were able to walk in an hour early and get his haircut without a wait though. This of course depends on when you are there and what time of day you want to go.

My DD just had her first haircut there about 3 weeks ago. We had an appt (which we scheduled the week before.) Our appt was for 9:30 on a Sunday morning and we had to wait about 15 mins (we went straight there after rope drop and they weren't even open yet.) They were also taking walk-ins. I think there were 4-5 walk-in's waiting by 9:30am. The space is VERY small. There are only three barber stations, so an appt is recommended.

The Dapper Dans only stop by around 12 noon to sing in the Barbershop. (They sing around Main Street other times of the morning.)

The first haircut experience was a cute one. They covered DD with stickers and gave her toys to play with and they give you a bravery certificate and a little bag of the hair they cut along with some pixie dust. Also you get a pair of Mickey Ears that say 'My First Haircut.' That was for $18 total for the cut.

They do not shampoo or anything like that. It's a straight forward (TINY) Barbershop. Like most people waiting had to wait outside because there simply isn't room inside.

My DS has an appt to get a trim when we go in a few days. He's 2 1/2 and keeps talking about how he's going to get a haircut there. He won't let me take him to any other place before hand. It would be his first time at Harmony Barber shop.

It's adorable - my son got his first there too and they did an excellent job, especially since he's a wiggle worm! I think it's the best deal in the park. $18 for first and adult cuts and I think $15 for kids compared to $60+ at bbb. Plus the price is competitive to the outside world. I'd pay that price or more for a kid at normal salons.
