Has anyone ever had a haircut from the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street? Did you have trouble getting in? I know it is 1st-come 1st-served. Does it fill up quickly? I have an ADR at CP at 8:10 AM and the MK and Barber Shop open at 9 AM. I am trying to get my son's first hair cut there.

The barbor shop was the first place we headed to when we got into Disney World. They are alot of people in and out. Alot turned around not willing to wait. It is a small building with at least 1 person in a family of at least 4 people actually getting a hair cut. So it really looks worse that it really is. But with that being said everyone is uaually just getting a basic trim and it goes really fast. If i can remember correctly there were 2 barbors there.:thumbsup2

We went right after rope drop. We were the first customers of the day. While we were there, a HUGE line formed outside. I'd recommend going first thing in the morning!

Did it in Paris. Kind of expensive, but it makes a great photo op.

We do first haircuts there, too. With my older ds, we did breakfast and were waiting before it opened. We were the only ones there, and no one even walked up before we were gone. This was mid June, too! I have to say it was pretty disappointing though. Maybe she just wasn't awake yet, but the lady doing his cut had very little personality and didn't even speak all that much. Snip. Snip. Here's your ears. Pay me. Bye.

I'm going to anticipate the big lines/crowds that I read about and try it with younger ds this year all the same.

We did have to wait, maybe around 30 minutes, but the parade was happening right outside the door, so we were able to stand on the sidewalk and watch that. No one was around because it's where the parade was ending. Our lady was grouchy. Kinda ruined the day for me actually. But the experience was fun for the kids and we got tons of compliments on their hair the rest of the evening.

I go there to get my hair cut all the time. Usually there will be a line, but it isn't too bad. I usually go in the afternoon and just wait. Sometimes I have waited a long time, others pretty short. You will be cutting it close with breakfast, but if you are quick eaters you might make it. You could also go eat after getting your haircut.

The barbershop is absolutely wonderful. If you can, wait for Michal (how he spells it). He's absolutely great. He's kind of a celebrity there. We took my son there at 6 months old for his first haircut. They do a wonderful job, you get a signed letter from them about how brave they were for their first haircut, and they also get Mickey ears embroidered with "First Haircut." This amazingly wonderful service costs a grand total of $14!!!! It will be the best investment of your whole trip for a baby's first haircut. Have a great time and get there early. It DOES get busy.

WE took DS for his first haircut and got there right when it opened and only waited a short time! It was alot of fun! Even he did OK!
I would go right after you finish breakfast...I think it will be fine!

Got my little guy done (almost 8 months at the time) right before the parade in Nov. We only had to wait for one person to finish. I guess we got lucky. It was a nice cut and it has grown in nicely, he has unusually thick hair for a baby. He spent most of the time trying to eat all the Mickey stickers while I filmed it. The first cut is a true bargain with the Ears. I hope to get him his 2nd cut there to if we can hold off long enough.

My DS and DH both had their haircut at the Barber shop on our last visit. It was about 30-40 minute wait but it was well worth it. We also met a nice family while we were waiting and it helped to pass the time. It was the best haircut my DS has ever had. We will be going back in Sept. Here are some pictures.

That is my "regular" barber shop; I go about every four weeks.

One important thing to remeber at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.
