Harder to get FPs when trip starts on Sunday?

We are checking in Sunday after Thanksgiving, staying onsite so we can make fast passes 60 days out. Do you think because our trip starts Sunday instead of Saturday- and we can't make FPs until a day later than people checking in Saturday- we'll have trouble finding FOP fast passes on Tuesday and FEA on Thursday? I would guess more people start Disney trips on Saturdays versus Sundays....

I usually travel on Sundays and a few times the same week as you. Although I have not tried for FOP yet (obviously) I did not have trouble getting FEA at 60 days out. I think FOP on Tuesday could be questionable (and I am in the same boat for my Nov trip, for what it's worth!).

There are always lots of people arriving before you, the day of the week or holidays don't change that. Standard FP booking strategy still applies, book first for the days latest in your trip.

The most common arrival day is Sunday. I don't know the most common departure day, but it's probably the weekend, too. People usually go back to work on Monday after a vacation.

Any statistics published to back that up? Just curious.
In all our trips we have never, ever arrived on a Sunday. That's be like wasting half our weekend or something.
I'd actually think that would be the least common day, if there even is one.
Because I don't think there is one. Not by any significant amount at least. I think people travel on every day and turn over is so great there is no such thing as a most common day. The differences are miniscule. But, again, maybe there are statistics out there that show different
We also travel back on Monday and go to work on Tuesdays, most every trip. That way we only have a 4 day work week following vacation.

We arrived on Sun. for our last trip(originally we were going to arrive on Mon.,
but wanted to enjoy the last day of F&W
(Mon.).

We got FEA for that Sun. :)

We pretty mhch alwats arrive kn a saturday, leave on a sunday, never have trouble with getting FP. Usually don't reserve until 2 weeks or less.

FOP can be difficult for anyone to get if they aren't staying for several days onsite. Just look for it first thing, and start with your last park day. But all of the other attractions, including Navi and FEA, will have plenty availability & there will be no need to rush for those.

We usually arrive on a Sunday, but this year we are arriving on a Monday. I had no problem getting the time I wanted for most Fast Passes, even FEA. The only one that I couldn't get at all was FOP. Absolutely nothing available for any of the 7 days of our trip, and I tried to get that one first at 7:00am on our 60 day mark.

My last 3 trips to Disney I arrived on a Monday, Monday, and Saturday.

Thanks everyone. I know people come and go every day of the week, but it feels like Saturday would be the most common arrival day so people can take advantage of the whole weekend. That's what we would be doing, if we weren't staying with my in-laws in Florida for a few days after Thanksgiving. I'm really reassured to hear about all the luck with FEA fast passes, and will just keep my fingers crossed for flight of passage! I guess worst case, we will rope drop it and hopefully by our trip, lines will have calmed down. I had a really hard time getting some of our dining reservations and I logged on as soon as the window opened to book them, so part of me was wondering if it's because we are arriving on Sunday. Maybe a lot of them were booked the day prior by the Saturday peeps. Could also be because we are staying during free dining week.

FDing always negatively impacts availability for ADRs - don't sweat it. You are going at a lower crowd time anyway so you'll have fun (you are going during my favorite week of the year, in fact!).

We've always arrived on Friday and return home on a Saturday. This time we arrived on Sunday and had no problem at all.

Not everybody spends a whole week at Disney and some spend more than 1 week. We usually take an extended weekend. This year, we arrive on Friday and leave on Wednesday. But, we've also arrived on Thursday and left Monday, or arrived on Friday and left Tuesday.

No stats, I just read it in an Econoguide WDW travel guide book. Unless things have changed a lot since that book came out (in 2007), I have no reason to doubt the info. It makes sense to me; don't most people's vacations start on a Saturday, after the workweek is done? But many wouldn't leave on Saturday, because they would have last minute stuff to do first. Isn't that why people on these boards often say "don't go to the MK on a Monday"? The kids want to go there first.

I don't see why arriving on Sunday "wastes the weekend." Most people spend a week or more in the parks, and you're on vacation anyway; what's the difference if you're having fun in the parks on the weekend or on a weekday? Actually, everything else being equal, a weekday is better because it will probably be less crowded.

Staying onsite in less expensive during the weekday as well. We always arrive on a Sunday (driving down from MA, it's so much better to leave early on a Saturday morning, rather than fight commuter traffic) and have never had trouble getting the FP we want.

I suppose statistically there has to be a day of the week that is the most frequent for arrivals but I don't know what that is. Nevertheless, I doubt it is so significant as to have a material impact on FP availability. There will always be more people looking for popular FPs than there are FPs to hand out.

Working in the hotel industry from what I have experienced most people arrive Fridays-Sundays. Of course this changes depending on the seasons.
